It was a small "condo" with kitchen facilities - it was on the first floor (thank goodness!). It is just comfy for 2 people to share and we would have preferred a queen size bed considering the size of the bedroom - more walk-around area would have been nice and not having to literally crawl into bed from the wall side. A suitcase luggage rack would have been a real plus. All in all, it was a good experience, the price was wonderful and it was convenient to our Murrell's Inlet relatives - we would stay here again any time. It had beautiful relaxing views.

Had trouble with booking and clarifying actual cost of room. Various "hotel fees" were in addition to quoted price. We had stayed there before and liked the location but wanted to know exactly what our charge would be. Arrived at Pawleys Plantation for check in as directed in Expedia confirmation and told we had to drive 5 miles back to check in at Litchfield. Desk clerk was dismissive and on the verge of rude when I tried to explain problems we'd encountered.

Pawleys Island has served as a coastal getaway since the 1700s. The town has opted to preserve its historic character by enacting strict zoning laws, which means that those seeking for high-rise digs will have to look on the mainland. At its narrowest points, the island is no wider than a typical house. Its historic district includes a dozen pre-Civil War homes.
