"Elegant old hotel center of Palermo"
Palermo is a gritty , bustling, in your face city, and the Palmes is a wonderful oasis. It has not kept up with the times, but still feels grand. Over look the worn carpet and you'll be transported back to more civil times.

"Comfortable hotel in quiet street with good buses"
The hotel is clean, comfortable and modern. We had a basic room which was still a decent size with an en suite shower room. The bed was good. Reception and breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. The location is just a block from Politeama (named for Theatre Politeama rather than that actual piazzas), which with neighbouring piazza Sturzo is one of the main centres for both AMAT city buses (Mondello, Central Station, Norman Palace etc) and intercity coaches to/from the west (Airport, Trapani/Erice, Castelvetrano). There are ticket offices for all the main coach services and the only AMAT booth that sells multi-day city bus tickets (a bargain at less than 3 Euro/day/person for unlimited travel in the city) all in the same street (v Turati) - AMAT actually on an island in Liberte). Dangerously there is an awesome ice cream shop one block away just off Sturzo - 3 flavours - 1.5 Euro, and to damage larger budgets rather than waistlines via Liberte, the next street but one is full of designer shops Gucci etc. There is a Carrefour supermarket within easy walking on via Liberte. The historic centre of Palermo is walkable and certainly easily busable from Politeama. We got the bus to the Central Station fora rail trip to Cefalu and a coach to Agrigento). Getting to the station took 15mins approx on the bus, you wouldn't walk it readily. We found good restaurants in the back streets of the historic town and OK but more expensive ones local to the hotel.

"Great value for quality and location"
This is a small (11 room) hotel on the second story of a building across from the Opera house. The location is terrific - easily walkable to all the major sights and extremely close to many many restaurants. The facilities are modern and very clean and nice - well above average for a hotel of this class. Front desk was very friendly and helpful with good English.

Older style very nice hotel. Good location in Palermo. However, didn't like Palermo itself. Dirty city with a lot of graffiti.

"Convention Center"
The room is spacious with free wifi & buffet breakfast. The LED TV had 3 English stations (CNN, BBC, Fox). & the rest Italian. A safe for valuables & there r no numbers to put in the code, but a diagram shows a card with a strip & direction you swipe through a slot like a stores credit card machine. You have to slide your credit card left to right quickly to access the the locking mechanism. There is no charge on your credit card which we checked at our bank in Canada. The hotel restaurant is open for 3 meals a day. The breakfast had plenty of food ( bacon, scrabble eggs, sausages, cereals, fresh juices, coffee, tea, water, yogurt, fruits, toast, bread etc. The staff are very efficient and take your plates away when you want to get pastries. The hotel is across the road to the ocean and our room was facing the the outdoor pool. People are able to be served next to the pool. The area is a mile from the bus & train station. We would definitely stay there again.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Palermo Historical Center hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
