Our room had such great character. It was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly and I loved the breakfast and glass of wine offered in the afternoon.
The only thing I would have desired was a bigger parking lot. I like to park away from cars to prevent door dings and the lot was small so I couldn't find my "spot". That is my own quirkiness. Other than that I would definitely stay again. They are a diamond in the rough of all the overpriced hotels in the area.

"Good clean little motel on way to the Oaks In Ojai"
I needed a place close to the Oaks to join in on an early morning hike and exercise program...this was perfect. Close, clean, food within walking distance. Good ice machine, comfortable bed, clean room with nice TV, microwave, and refrigerator with a freezer for my ice paks. Only thing I wish was different is the shower head - it is very low.. Need to bend to wash your hair...good if trying to keep it dry while showering.
I will be back.

Got there later than I was hoping to, front desk staff was very polite, and quick. I went to my room, and found it not clean at all. I left that room put my stuff back in my car, and went back up to the desk. I had to wait a couple minutes while someone else was checking in (no big deal), and when I told the gentleman at the desk he immediately gave me a different room, and comped my breakfast. Went and found my new room (right down from my first one), and went in and got all settled. There was a funky odor in the room (kinda musty, kinda moldy, difficult to explain), but it wasn't bad enough to make me change rooms again, I just wanted to sleep.
Bed was super comfy, room temperature was good (two windows that opened, and an air conditioning unit that was easy to adjust to a level I was happy with).
Breakfast was pretty good. The waffle I had was clearly made with pancake batter (and a dense one at that), it was tasty, but it wasn't very light or crunchy. My eggs were delicious, and seriously the sausage links were quite possibly the best sausage I've had in a long while!
All in all my stay was great, the view from the restaurant was spectacular, and I would definitely stay here again.

There was a lot of signs regarding safety and cameras. It made me feel unsafe. They also request an id of every one staying in the room which was off for me since I’ve never had that before. It was good for the price. Conveniently located by the freeway and the beach.

Enclosed by mountains and hills, the village, as locals call it, is Ventura County’s smallest city at 4.2 square miles. Ojai Avenue features boutiques, galleries, and restaurants, including an especially dense block known as The Arcade. Libbey Park, in the middle of downtown, hosts the Ojai Music Festival each year. Adjacent to the park is the city’s iconic Spanish-style bell tower.
