We were here to celebrate my brother's wedding. Everyone enjoyed their stay. The rooms were clean, food was good, location was convenient, and breakfast in the restaurant was a fun place to gather each morning.

2 night stay close to where my sons apartment is. Hotel was convient, clean, very comfortable and quiet. We chose chose this hotel because of the location, price and the fact that dogs stay free, which we had with us. Very affordable!

Nothing exceptional, but good enough to merit no complaints. Check in staff was extra slow but still got the job done. The room was nice, clean, comfortable, with nothing extra. They did have good enough wi-fi, the free breakfast was basically coffee and nutrition bars/fruit, which was nice enough. We checked out the next day so our needs were limited.

My wife and my daughter and I traveled to Austin to see a concert at ACL Live on Father's Day weekend. When we first arrived, we were very impressed with the Hyatt House. The grounds are well-manicured, and the staff was friendly and informative. However, it did not take long to see beneath the surface. When we got to our room, a custodian was working in it, and he was very surprised to see us. They left us in that room, which I should have known was a mistake. When we pulled out the pull-out bed for my daughter, I found that the mattress under the cushions had crumbs on it and that it had not been cleaned in some time. I also found a hairball and a large pink comb. The outside of the toilet near the handle and on the bowl was dirty as though someone had been sick there, had tried to clean it up, and had not done a very good job. The hot water would go away suddenly and then come back again. This happened when I was shaving and when both my wife and I were showering on separate occasions. When my wife and daughter went to breakfast, my wife noticed that the cottage cheese was not on ice, but she tried it anyway. It was rancid, which ruined her breakfast for obvious reasons. My overall analysis of Hyatt House is that it has a great structure and wonderful staff but that it needs to work on the details in order to live up to even a three star rating.

Aloft at the Domain is Austin chic. Comfy beds, cool decor and vibe, great amenities, and friendly staff. Only advice is that Texas summers are HOT. So if you need to sleep cool you need to come in and crank the air down as low as it will go. Set it to 42 and it only got down to 69 by morning. Not sure if it was just that room or if they all take a long time to cool. But overall, great hotel and I would go back.

As a high-tech incubator, Austin’s northwest fringes give credence to its nickname of “Silicon Hills.” Here, IBM conducts research on microprocessors, while The University of Texas provides seed money and space for promising technologies. Many tech vendors also operate in the area’s office parks. Nearby on Research Boulevard, the Arboretum at Great Hills melds shopping with Austin’s lush terrain.
