"This is a beautiful hotel"
been going regularly for 4 years when wanting a few days relaxation, we love everything about it. If I am to level one crticism about this stay it is that the bar has now started selling lager in 2/3 pint measures for £4.60 would not sell it in pint measures even though all they have to do is simple maths and multiply by 1.5 to put £6.90 through the till. I don't think this development will be to every Customers liking. Come on this is still England, not Europe. However this problem is now accepted, will not stop us going back next year.

"Will definitely book again if in the area"
Beautifully presented hotel from the reception to the bedroom to the bar and dining areas everything was immaculate and decorated in a traditional style. It is a lovely old building so rooms and dining areas are accessed via stairs which may mean it is not suitable for everyone but this is noted on the website. I booked for myself, my niece and my two dogs as I was travelling to a dog show in the area and was delighted to see that the bedroom was very large giving me plenty of room to lay out beds and blankets for my dogs to sleep. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, good space to store your belongings and despite being an older building secondary glazing meant that there were no draughts and the room was cosy. There isn’t a lot of parking but at the time we visited it was adequate. As we arrived late in the evening we had dinner in our room and I have to say the food was delicious and quality was way above the usual room service fare. Breakfast time and there was a good selection of cooked and continental items and fresh bread was quickly brought through for toast. The staff in the hotel are an absolute delight, so welcoming and helpful and keen to ensure your stay is a pleasant one. I would definitely book here again if I was travelling in the area.

"A surprise in the Country"
Last minute booking. We arrived around 8pm and were greeted warmly. There was a private group staying that night but we were welcomed in to the dining room to have a cup of tea. Our room had 2 single beds, rather old and unfortunately you could feel the springs when sleeping on one. The shower was a but tricky size wise but the water was hot. Our friendly host was friendly and helpful

Northumberland is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Northumberland, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Northumberland hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
