I found this accommodation a great place to stay. Stayed in the cabin which had a kitchenette which was handy. The toilets and showers weren't far to go but would of been handy to have toilet in room but that's what you pay for cheaper accommodation. Was noisy at times with kids but it was school holidays. Hotel staff great to deal with and very helpful.

The Peace and Plenty was one of the most beautiful B&B's I have ever visited. The historic victorian mansion has been restored to it's original glory, with updated modern conveniences. Our room was beautifully decorated with luxury bedding, and elegant furnishings. We had french doors that opened to a lovely balcony with a garden view. The room was equipped with a refrigerator, and a hallway honor bar refrigerator that offered cold beer for a hot summer day!
Located in the Devonport section of Auckland, the Peace and Plenty is situated in a terrific area. We walked to restaurants, the beach, parks, and the harbor.
The best part of the Peace and Plenty stay was our hostess. Her experience of running a successful B&B was apparent in every aspect. From the wonderful cooked to order breakfast in the beautiful dining room, to the fine touches of English china and silver, made this a stay we will never forget!

I couldn't fault much about this accommodation. I got it for a good price, the staff were truely amazing assisting with my bags up and down the stairs and giving me ideas on where to eat and places to visit. The bed was comfortable and the spa was just amazing! Oh and how could I forget the slippers that were provided to add the icing on the cake. The accommodation was easy to find and not far from the beach.

Takapuna Lodge Motel fitted the bill for us in a number of ways but some details in the room spoiled the stay for us. The bathroom vanity had the veneer falling off in places. The surface of the toilet seat was crazed (usually old age) so I cannot see how it could have been cleaned to a hygienic state. The top of the toilet bowl rim was not cleaned before or during our stay.
In the sitting room the net curtain in front of the sliding door was mouldy from floor to about 1 meter high.
Even though the accommodation rates were understandably high season, the matters noted above did not make us feel that we received value for the money we paid.

The North Shore is situated 4 km across the Harbour Bridge from the city centre, and is densely populated and mostly residential in character. Popular pockets include harbourside Takapuna with a well-established café and beach culture, and the quaint upmarket seaside village of Devonport which offers a selection of restaurants, gift and antique shops, and a ferry service to the CBD.
