I recently stayed 4 nights at this hotel with my wife and two children. Upon arrival, I was greeted by valet at the front entrance, who kindly opened the door for us (they did this every time we entered and existed the lobby doors) and directed us to the lobby receptionist. Although early, we were able to check-in two hours before the scheduled time (complimentary of course) and the staff even honored my request to change the room type. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and sincere, which created a very light and relaxed atmosphere. The facilities appear new and elegant, and the decor gives off a peaceful vibe (reminds me of beachfront hotel). The room (one-bedroom suite with separate living area) was clean and inviting. Housekeeping services were outstanding. I hardly ever saw them, but the room was impeccably cleaned each day and they were respectful of our personals. There is beautiful restaurant on site; however, we did get a chance to experience this offering. Check-out was a breeze. The staff was professional and truly grateful for our business. We were very pleased with our experience at the Alfond Inn and will definitely return during our next Orlando area vacation.

Again, I will no longer use expedia. I needed to list my dog and was told the best way to do that was to contact the hotel directly. If i need to do that I might as well book directly with them. The hotel website also did not have a section for listing a pet. Pet friendly should allow me to reserve a room and pay for it. Had they booked all pet rooms we would have been SOL! Very bad web design

We booked this hotel for our last night in FLA, so as not to be over 2 hours from the airport, since our flight was at 8:50 am. Not having GPS, I phoned once we got to Sanford, and got John at the front desk, a very nice and helpful Scotsman, who told me the last few turns to take to get there. We met John when we checked in. Very friendly fellow.
The motel room itself was surprisingly clean and well decorated, especially considering the price. It was quite comfortable too. No breakfast, I don't think, but then we were running a touch late anyway. Just a bit of noise from the parking lot, a few folks playing the radio in their cars, but it stopped before 10:00. No noise from adjoining rooms--either they are sound-resistant (doubtful) or the manager staggers the room rentals to provide a "buffer" between them.
All in all, a good place for short stays.

"Easy access to main interstate leading to Daytona."
The staff was as nice and pleasant as could be. The building and interior finish was as good or better than expected for the price. When we had trouble with wi-fi reception, I was hooked up with their tech people who fixed the problem immediately. We will stay there or in one of the other two buildings next time we visit.

"Average accommodations in a nice lakeside location"
Nothing exceptional. Nice room with view of the lake at reasonable price.. Don't know about the guy who coughed right outside my door at 0400 hours. There's a marina next door with lots of sailboats, power and house boats. No rentals that I could determine, although there is a place that teaches sailing on small boats.

Although considered off the beaten for the average tourist, North Orlando is home to several attractions. Orlando Loch Haven Park is the city's cultural center: its 45 acres include the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, the Orlando Museum of Art, the Orlando Science Museum, and the Mennello Museum of American Art. North Orlando is also home to the city's Antique District and a growing Asian enclave.
