Just came back from a week stay at the Villa del Mar and as a frequent traveller to PV, this was the best resort I have stayed at. From check-in to check-out, and in between, everything was quick and all staff - front desk, waiters, busboys, bartenders, bellboys, maids, you name it - were extremely courteous, professional and helpful. Yes, you get the time-share pitch at check-in, but a firm - but pleasant - "No thank you" did the trick. We booked a studio room and were pleasantly surprised at how roomy it was. The kitchenette was stocked with everything we needed and our room was always spotlessly clean. The resort also has a Sports Bar and Mini Mart The grounds are beautiful, food and drinks from the restaurants/bars fabulous and with 3 pools or the beach to choose from, the hardest decision of the day was "beach or pool?" Favourite day was on the beach watching whales breach the water among all the Whale Watching Tour boats ... yes, they were that close off shore. Future trips to PV will be booked at the Villa del Mar.

If you are a older couple you would like this resort. The average age was at least 55 years old. They have 3 pools and 1 is very quite and away from the noise. The beach is very nice but be careful of high tide because the waves can be nasty. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have there own little market to buy food and drink and reasonable priced

What a great place this was. The staff was extremely accommodating and very nice! The rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel is located in a great spot, you are close to the marina and only a few minutes taxi ride from the Romantic Zone - which was an awesome experience! The property is gated with a security guard, you always felt safe and secure there. The property is groomed and well maintained. They take a lot of pride in the property, you can tell. The pool is GREAT! There is a food park right next to the hotel, great for burgers, sushi, gourmet coffee, cocktails, you name it. We tried them ALL and they were DELICIOUS! Besides the awesome experience with this property one thing that will stand out (at least for us it did) is how wonderful all the food tastes! The hotel is pet friendly too, which is nice. Will definitely be going back!

Pocket Guide: Puerto Vallarta North Hotel Zone Hotels
Large resorts dominate the Hotel Zone, arguably the center of Puerto Vallarta tourism. This area includes the Maritime Terminal, where cruise ships dock. Across the street, visitors can see authentic bullfights at La Paloma Bullring. Like its southern half, the North Hotel Zone’s main attraction is the crescent-shaped bay. Water sports are in abundance, as are restaurants, bars, and shops.
