This was our fourth visit, and as always we were recognized as we got out of the cab at the hotel door, and greeted by name. The hotel staff were unfailingly kind, helpful and considerate.
Each year we see improvements in management and guest comfort.
The buffet in both hotels was great, lots of variety, and the specialty restaurants were very good. This year a chef's station at the beach is a new innovation, and was enjoyable.
As returning guests we were invited to a seated thank you dinner in the sister resort next door, the food was great and it was a nice touch on the part of the hotel to acknowledge client loyalty.
We will be returning next year, and are already looking forward to it.

Large, lovely, family oriented resort located right on the beach. Many swimming pool areas, small cafe with decent menu. I stayed here for two days to rest up from an excruciating travel schedule. Ended up on a top floor unit with a king size bed and astounding view of the ocean. Staff accommodated me with a fridge/microwave/coffee maker upon request as I was supposed to have a room with a kitchenette but arrived very early in the morning and the room would not be ready for hours.
Keep in mind there are no elevators and the railings for all the stairways and the railings for the balconies are not very high. Dangerous for children and drunkards. My room was part of a two or three room suite that used one common entry door. The door to my unit locked, but the key would not open it from the outside so I left the room unlocked while I was out as there was a lock to the common entry did lock. Whenever I was gone from the room I placed all valuables and electronics in the room safe and didn't worry about security.
I enjoyed my stay and under certain similar circumstances would stay there again.

Our whole family stayed there in three different condos. My daughter and husband with two small children stayed in a large 3 bedroom 3 bath and it was absolutely top rate, a five. The staff especially Maricio, our "concierge", was so helpful with everything we needed.
My son and his wife stayed in a small studio and my partner and I had a large studio. I would rate his a three, comfortable but very small and ours was larger and very nice but with an old bathroom so I would rate ours a four.
The grounds with 5 different pools and the views from our rooms were all fantastic.
The only restaurant on the grounds is very average.

Pocket Guide: Puerto Vallarta North Hotel Zone Hotels
Large resorts dominate the Hotel Zone, arguably the center of Puerto Vallarta tourism. This area includes the Maritime Terminal, where cruise ships dock. Across the street, visitors can see authentic bullfights at La Paloma Bullring. Like its southern half, the North Hotel Zone’s main attraction is the crescent-shaped bay. Water sports are in abundance, as are restaurants, bars, and shops.
