"Cozy cabin with wallabies galore"
Cabin was relatively new and clean, and had everything we needed. We stayed in the 5-person cabin (2 bedrooms, small bathroom, and living/kitchen area). The cabin was very small but just right for a short, 2-day stay in which we spent most of the time touring the park. Staff were courteous and quite helpful. Cooking: The kitchen area is small but adequate for cooking with stove, sink, refrigerator, microwave, utensils, plates, and cups, and coffee/hot chocolate. No oil, salt, or basic cooking supplies are provided, but the cafe was nice enough to give us some oil from their kitchen. We came in the beginning of the wet season when their restaurants were mostly closed and the town is a 30 minute drive, so it's important to plan ahead with your cooking supplies. A small round table served as the dining area, but it was adequate. There was also a loveseat in the living area. The bedrooms were small - one bedroom with a double plus single bunk bed was particularly tight with no dresser or nightstand. The other bedroom had space for a dresser. Even though there was only one bathroom, there was a wash sink outside and then communal shower area by the pool, so that we could shower without having to wait for turns to use the bathroom. The highlight of our stay here was the abundant wallabies grazing on the lawns. Our 10 year old son loved this part - his favorite part of our Australia visit was getting close to the wallabies and even being able to touch one.

"Wonderful experience"
From the moment we arrived at Cicado Lodge we were made to feel special. We were lucky to arrive during a quiet period and almost had the resort to ourselves and Charlie and Susie looked after us beautifully. Our room was modern , clean and very comfortable. It was very private and the view of the bush was beautiful and we felt like our only neighbors were the wallabies. We felt spoilt with the canap├ęs and drinks by the pool before dinner and the meal in the restaurant was superb and could easily have been from a fine dining restaurant in a major city and the continental breakfast that is included is beautifully presented. A must do, in season is the Sunset Dinner Cruise as the scenery is spectacular and the food catered for by the resort chefs is five star dining.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
