Stayed at this hotel New Years Eve.Expected some noise during the night, but some parents left their children run up and down the corridor at 01:30 in the morning,on the 3rd floor, not amused as we were trying to sleep at the time!!Managed to get to sleep eventually.Room was ok,looking over the Car Park, the quieter side.Facilities ok,Wifi signal was ok and free.Bed was ok,on the firm side.Having read reviews, didn't expect a lot from the breakfast,Continental ,with beans, sausage and scrambled egg and toast for those wanting something warmer.A pity some of the public decided to turn up in their pyjamas at 09:00 in the morning which cheapened the Hotel in my opinion.Would probably stay here again, perhaps not on New Years Eve.Book well in advance and you may get a better price. There is a Pub next door, independent of the hotel, where yo can have food and should you wish to have slightly better prices on alcohol.
The Staff were very pleasant and booking in and out was good.Breakfast Staff coped well, with the hungry mouths, when the scrambled egg ran out!

Room was as described, clean and a good location. The owner, Barry, had a lot of integrity and pride in his establishment. He has professional experience in the service industry and it shows through. One of the few UK B&B's we stayed at in 20 nights with a top sheet! The way it should be done but often isn't.

Had previously stayed in a suite, which was very nice, this time around was in a delux double bedroom. Room was ok, moved tray that had glasses and bottled water which revealed quite a bit of dust, so did a bit of inspection dust on the telly, along head board, radiator cover was not attached to wall (had been ripped off at some point and not repaired) very dusty and rubbish behind radiator cover. Bathroom grouting needs a bit of bleach as quite mouldy and the non-heated towel rail came apart when hung towel over it, other wise décor very nice. Comfy bed, only one dressing gown in room and there were two of us staying!
Would stay again though, swimming pool and facilities good compared to other hotels we have stayed in as were the meals (dinner and breakfast)

Newport, on the Usk River, is 12 miles east of Cardiff, the capital of Wales. Newport is home to the Newport Transporter Bridge, which is open to tourists on public holidays. Cardiff was awarded the European City of Sport in 2009 because of its role in hosting major international events. Its Millennium Stadium is where rugby and soccer take place; its SWALEC Stadium hosts cricket.
