Good location, but the rooms in the main building are a bit worn and there were cobwebs and dust everywhere. I would opt for the lake view rooms next time. Breakfast is a bit disorganised. The hotel grounds however are lovely and if you can get a good price then worth the stay for a night.

A really good one night stay with dinner. A good meal over at the golf club area for dinner; breakfast in the hotel. Both areas have friendly staff. A big, clean, room. Highly recommed this hotel and complex.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weekend nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotel is located adjacent to the Reading football stadium with excellent parking facilities and next to the park and ride facility into Reading. We stayed at the hotel during a home match and the hotel is so well insulated that we did not have any disturbance from the match.
The rooms are modern, clean, large and well appointed with free Wi-Fi. There is a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom had both a shower and bath. There is air con in the rooms so you can always get the room to your preferred temperature.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of both hot and cold food. The breakfast service was very well organised. The management had obviously put a lot of effort in to getting it right. Toast was delivered to our table so you are not queuing at one of those awful rotary toaster things. Fresh coffee delivered to your table in a flask so you don't have to try and find a member of staff for a refill. Food regularly refreshed to ensure that it is freshly cooked, fried eggs with soft yokes. You can even order special breakfast items like eggs benedict, scrambled egg with smoked salmon and bagels filled with smoked salmon and cream cheese at no extra cost. The delivery of these special order items was very quick.
We could not find fault with any aspect of our stay and will definitely stay here again.

The 3-D wallpaper of "hairy cattle" over the bed in room 114 was frightning. The shower leaked; the knob on the dresser was broken; the lamp on the dresser did not light up; the bin in the bathroom was hard to open; and water damage in the wall was visible. Also, more attention to the "serve yourself" breakfast table would have bee appreciated, such as serving utensiils.

The hotel is well located across the street from the Ashmolean museum and walking distance to most things in Oxford. Service was friendly, if a bit lax. Requests to the the front desk were forgotten twice. There appeared to be many trainee employees and several young concierge. All were willing to help, but didn't always follow through. The room was very comfortable. Small, but modern bathroom. Good climate control, hot water and room amenities like comfortable chairs, desk, coffee, tea, refrigerator. Nightly turn down service.
