"Surprise location"
The street lobby does not give credit to this great location and all the amenities you get on the fourth floor!!! bar, terrace, lounge, restaurant, out door movie. The rooms are small but very well done, I love the bed that rise at the head by a push of a button. I will go back any time.

"Nice hotel close to Times Square"
The best thing about The Wellington is definitely its location; it's only a few blocks from both Times Square and Central Park making it ideal for a short city break because you can reach all the main attractions easily. The hotel itself is nice in an old-fashioned sort of way. Though we booked just a double room, the receptionist upgraded my sister and I to a Queen-bed so we would both have a bit more room. The room itself was actually pretty small, but seeing as we spent all day/evening outside of the hotel, this didn't bother us. One night our air conditioning broke (not ideal in 30 degree + weather), and though I did have to ask reception three times to sort it out, maintenance did eventually come and replace the entire air-con system in our room, which was great and we were incredibly appreciative. The diner attached to the hotel is also pretty good (definitely recommend the French Toast) however they do get exceptionally busy. On our last morning we were trying to enjoy a leisurely breakfast when the waitress told us we had to leave because her manager was pressuring the staff to make room for new guests. All in all, both me and my sister really enjoyed our stay at The Wellington and we would definitely stay here again.

"Nice hotel close to Time square and Central Park."
The hotel was very clean, well decorated, and the staff polite. The only issue that I had was the size of the elevators. Apparently they aren't made for large numbers of people or anything over a carry on bag. Over all though I enjoyed my stay a great deal.

Booked on Expedia. I struggled finding a place that was reasonable in NYC...its always so expensive. We also wanted to stay in the Lower east side. This place was perfect location and very nice. Staff was great. BTW you need to pay cash for the rooms.

"Best staff I've encountered in NYC"
The Time is quite simply the best hotel for business travelers in the area. The rooms are luxurious, well appointed and spotlessly clean, and the bar and lounges nice. Professional and reliable every time. For me, the hard working staff are the star attraction -- Jack and Daniela in Guest Services provide awesome advice and assistance and work super hard to ensure your stay is enjoyable and successful. It means the world to have great people to rely on -- especially thousands of miles from home.

    Explore New York

Let’s just admit it – New York City is the center of the universe. Nowhere else comes close to its energy or importance – in business, art, fashion, cuisine, you name it. It’s a truly global metropolis where strivers from the world over come to chase their dreams.

The mythology of Gotham is as big as its skyscrapers and as brash as its cabbies. At the cutting-edge of everything, it brought you the Beats and the Beastie Boys, Scorsese and “Saturday Night Live,” Chris Rock and the Ramones, George Gershwin and Grandmaster Flash.

You could spend a lifetime exploring Manhattan. Art lovers swoon at the MOMA, the Guggenheim, the Met and countless galleries in Chelsea. Don’t miss a Broadway musical or the views from the Empire State Building.

Visit Brooklyn for hipster cool and family-friendly neighborhoods. You’ll hear every language imaginable in multi-ethnic Queens. Discover the roots of hip-hop and cheer on the Yankees in The Bronx. The Staten Island Ferry provides unbeatable views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.

    Sensory stimulation

It's natural to feel a little overwhelmed on a first visit to New York. The city can overload the senses: the smell of sizzling gyros from Midtown street vendors' carts, the sound of a subway musician's saxophone during the crush of a rush-hour commute, and the neon lights of Times Square flashing at all times of day and night.

This stimulation from all sides is what makes New York so dynamic. You'll soon realize it's the sheer sense of possibility that has everyone jumping. You can do anything here, whether it's catching a long-running show like Phantom of the Opera on Broadway or crashing a loft party in the newest alternative art space. Shop 'til you drop in SoHo like the 'Sex and the City' cast or hobnob with the literati at West Village wine bars.

You can even enjoy some nature, and not only in Central Park. The East Village has many community gardens and Brooklyn's Prospect Park is a real delight. Head north to the Bronx Botanical Gardens or to Washington Heights' Fort Tryon Park, which towers over the Hudson River with views of the Palisades - you won't believe you're still in the city.

    The whole world is here

To get your bearings in such a large city, it's a good idea to start with an overview. A hop-on, hop-off bus tour will help you learn the lay of the land. Or, for a different vantage point, try a helicopter ride over the five boroughs or sail by Manhattan's monuments on an elegant dinner cruise. Sure, it's a bit extravagant and certainly bold, but hey, that's New York.

Really, though, New York is a series of neighborhoods-it's not all that intimidating. From Little Italy to Chinatown, the Lower East Side to Chelsea, New York houses several communities, each with their own distinct flavor. Despite this, there are no artificial boundaries-the daily mix of millions of different people is what makes the city's story so great. Perhaps that's why New Yorkers think they live in the center of the world-it seems the whole world is here. Hide
