Well located with very friendly and helpful staff. The room was comfortable and very quiet. The breakfast was a crazy price, so we ate at the Rijksmuseum instead, which is only a few minutes walk away.

Hotel was perfectly located for everything we wanted to do in Amsterdam. Walking distance to Van Gogh and Riks museum; right next to tourist area; and accessible to 4 tram lines that lead to centraal station. Line 16 took us to red light district (Dam station) right before centraal station. Daily tram pass was €7.5.
The room was very big with a beautiful bathroom. But the heater was not very effective and our room stayed really cold in winter. It was nice to be able to hang out on the balcony. We had a nespresso machine and it was greatly utilized and appreciated.
Grey Area had the best weed but be prepared to pay top dollar. The best chocolates were across the street from Grey Area. Macarons were super cheap from the ice cream/waffle shop in the middle of tourist corner: €15 for 10 vs €2-3 each elsewhere. Best local food was at the Pantry; hardy homecooking.
Would stay again if I ever go back to Amsterdam.

Home to Amsterdam’s big three museums, the Museum Quarter includes the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk. The former is the huge national art collection. The Stedelijk is largely cutting-edge post-1945 art. The Van Gogh is home to 200 of the artist’s paintings. Nearby Leidseplein is the centre of Amsterdam’s more raucous nightlife, with famous clubs such as Paradiso and Melkweg. By day, visit the Art Deco Café Americain.
