The hotel is situated on the edge of the museum quarter and is very close to the main tram stops, shops, canal cruises, museums and vondlepark.
We were away to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and the concierge desk were key in finding us an excellent Michelin starred restaurant for our anniversary. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Bord'Eau and a complimentary bottle of champagne from the Marriott to help us celebrate.

Located in a leafy street in the buzzing area of Leidseplein, this hotel is a short walk from the Van Gogh museum, the Rijksmuseum and more, and is ideally located for exploring. The trams stop close to the hotel, which takes you through to the central area in about 10-15 minutes.
The hotel is pretty basic - there is no lift, the carpets look a bit tatty on the stairs, etc. Our room was small but clean, basic facilities, but all working. Kind of what you would expect for the price! My only real complaint was that the bed was pretty uncomfortable.. but, for a 3 night stay it was perfect and a perfect price too.

Don't ask me why we had a flight arriving at 6am, but we did. smh My jet lagged 9 year old daughter was exhausted and asleep in the lobby where we planned to hang out for a while and then take a walk while we waited on check in. Well Jaffar noticed our situation and without me asking made arrangements for us to check in early. I was so grateful for his thoughtfulness and this kind gesture. The entire staff was very helpful and friendly. Everyone spoke English which was a bonus for me. The rooms were on the smaller side but plenty big enough for the two of us and our luggage. The hotel rents bikes but didnt have one for a child at the time so we went a few blocks down to a different shop and rented bikes for 24 hours. This took us as far as the Anne Frank house and Red Light District. The next day we bought day passes for the tram which took us everywhere. Both very affordable.

I enjoyed my stay, in Amsterdam, at the Hotel De Paris. A single room/bed is a little on the small side but I have actually stayed in smaller. All the facilities of a single room were catered for and I was quite happy to relax there after a day/night in the city.

This hotel was next to everything we were looking for, there is a super market in walking distance as well as a park behind the hotel and there is a boat canal rentals or tours which I totally recommend since it shows you all the main places to hit and you get a good view of where everything else is at. The hotel has bike rentals at a very affordable cost, nice guy at counter, we were accidentally locked out late in the night which was after front counter hours and someone was there to help with no extra cost. I can't wait to go back!

Home to Amsterdam’s big three museums, the Museum Quarter includes the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk. The former is the huge national art collection. The Stedelijk is largely cutting-edge post-1945 art. The Van Gogh is home to 200 of the artist’s paintings. Nearby Leidseplein is the centre of Amsterdam’s more raucous nightlife, with famous clubs such as Paradiso and Melkweg. By day, visit the Art Deco Café Americain.
