My boyfriend and I came into town for a Penguins game and chose The Distrikt Hotel for it's upscale reviews and it's perfect walking location to PPG Paints Arena. The staff were above and beyond friendly and nice. They had amazing personalities, made us laugh and feel comfortable at check in, and made a ton of amazing suggestions for Pittsburgh. The room was the perfect size for the two of us! A queen bed, an armoire, a small desk, and a roomy bathroom. It was cozy and VERY clean. The whole hotel looks and feels brand new and upscale. Honestly, I felt under dressed being there!! It was gorgeous. The things I didn't love were the entrance was mildly confusing. There are several doors and we accidentally walked into the restaurant on the premises. Whoops! No big deal! I didn't love that there wasn't a vending machine available. All I really wanted was a bottle of water and had to drive around to find a convenience store. They don't do breakfast on the weekends, I've never stayed at a hotel that doesn't offer that option. These are small things that may not matter to anyone else, but made it a little less than perfect for us. Overall, it is super clean and beautiful. Check out the 10th floor terrace and the gorgeous albeit pricey restaurant options.

This hotel has an excellent location for people visiting campus or those that need to be near the hospitals. The hotel itself is very clean and nice. They do need softer mattresses though and our room did not have black-out curtains which made it hard to sleep, due to lots of outside lighting. From the outside, it looked like possibly some of the other rooms did have black-out curtains (maybe?), so hopefully our room was just a fluke.

My son is a Freshmen at Saint Vincent College. I have made several trips to Latrobe from
Ft. Lauderdale, FL and have stayed at a couple of hotels in the area. I have not been pleased with some of the experiences. I decided to take a little bit of a drive a couple of miles out from the Latrobe area and stay at the Holiday Inn, in Greensburg.
What an experience!!! I have found my #1 choice to stay when I come to visit my son. The staff was amazing, the hotel was so clean and welcoming. The rooms (bed, pillows and bathrooms) were great! Don't get me started on the breakfast! That too was great. The set-up was fulfilling, the food tasted great. They were constantly refilling and cleaning the serving area.
What can I say but great service, comfortable, clean and inviting!
