"Great view and good location"
Very good location on Mirissa Beach and right outside a bus stop to go to other South beaches. The bed was comfortable, very good air con, good shower with good hot water, the room was very big and clean. The breakfast was ok, fruit, bread and eggs. The staff were lovely and very welcoming

Kahanda Kanda

Angulugaha, Koggala - Map
Fantastic staff and service, beautiful rooms. We were lucky enough to try 3 different rooms during our stay and all were stunning. The best staff and service we encountered during our two week tour of Sri Lanka. Coming from central Tokyo we were mesmerized by the experiences with nature available in our garden or from our terrace - a family of monkeys playing in the tree above, peacocks fraternizing besides your table, fireflies surrounding you at night or a lady plucking tea just 30 meters away from your poolside - all are very 'normal' day-to-day experiences at KK that amazed us city dwellers. The only minor disappointment was the food - dinners were enjoyable enough if a little expensive for what they were - whilst I would say breakfast was fine. Lunch was the biggest disappointment - a very standard club sandwich or salad for around USD 15 (including service/tax) would be the usual menu. This hotel is so full of "WOW" factor in terms of the design, the rooms, the pools and the service but we were not once "wowed" by anything that we ate which was a shame. Eating at KK was more like a means to not to feel hungry anymore rather than a special dining experience.

The Sandhya

Kabalana Beach, Baranige Watha, Ahangama - Map
We loved the hotel so much that we extended our stay from the originally booked 3 nights to 10 nights. The staff were beyond wonderful and we felt relaxed and "at home" in the environment. I had not experienced a boutique hotel yet in my travels and after staying at the Sandhya, a boutique hotel would be my first choice. The intimate, relaxed environment was a nice change from the typical large resort. The hotel's design, d├ęcor and attention to detail were exceptional, sort of a modern minimalist environment, yet with everything you need. And, you cant beat waking up with full ocean views right out your patio! Wonderful resort, would absolutely recommend and would definitely visit again!

Handagedara Resort

Harbour Rd, Koparamulla, Mirissa - Map
"Close to beach and harbour."
The hotel is adequate and comfortable. Location is key, with short stroll to beach. Best place to eat lunch and dinner is zephyr on the beach. We only really used the hotel to sleep and spent the whole time on Mirissa beach. Other families were making use of the pool and loungers which seemed perfectly OK.

Weligama Bay Resort

Matara Road, Weligama - Map
"Somewhat overpriced for the facility."
This hotel is situated nicely on a beach that is great for beginner surfers. However, the rooms are a bit tired. The staff provides nice little touches like flowers on the bed, but then there are oddities like a glass dish on the night table that is cracked and chipped, and squashed mosquitos on the walls that have not been cleaned off. The restaurant is next to the beach, and breakfast was decent, but the flies are a bit crazy. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Bathrobes are sized for very small people - our 5'4" lady found them small so imagine me at 6'2". Cigarette burn hole in the bed sheet, shower didn't drain toward the drain but pooled at the other end. The first two nights we had some open no-name shampoo and lotion bottles which were later replaced with the more traditional screw top bottles. At the end of the day it's a decent stay but we have visited hotels in Sri Lanka for the same price that were far superior in terms of room, amenities, and quality of restaurant.

Right on the beach with a beautiful pool and surrounding views. Food was delicious and staff were very helpful. The day trip to Galle was also definitely worth doing through Eraeliya and Mirissa is just a tuk tuk away for lots of beach restaurants.

Mirissa Beach is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Mirissa Beach, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Mirissa Beach hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
