The hotel has good access to public transport - trains and tram almost at the door. It has old world charm, spacious rooms which we found to be clean and comfortable. Beds and air-conditioning all good, no problems. Our room on the fourth floor was quiet with good black out full length drapes so no problem if you need to sleep in. We have stayed here once previously and would gladly do so again.

Reasonably priced if you book early. Useful info: 1) There's a flight of stairs connecting Aurora Lane to Collins Street (you don't need to take the detour suggested by Google Maps); 2) the entry to the hotel is not obvious: It is at the corner with Mayfield Place. The frontage is dark glass panels without the full name Travelodge so it's easy to miss; 3) Free internet is provided but only up to 512MB for 2 devices every 24 hours; 4) Walking time to Southern Cross Station is only about 8 minutes. 5 minutes. You may take the free CBD tram for one stop to save some walking.

Spent 2 nights here. Lucked out that one was on wednesday which is when the night market takes places. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the market and convenient to other downtown restrauants and shopping. Loved this hotel one of the best places we stayed during our 3 weeks of travel. Has a restaurant and bar located in it also. Friendly and helpful staff.
