Riad Kalaa - Rabat Hotels

Riad Kalaa

"Intriguing riad well located in medina"
Riad Kalaa is a beautiful riad with attractive decoration and a lovely roof terrace.the location is good though that does make it quite hard to find-some simple sketch maps of the area would help guests ( the older ones like me who dont have smartphones!)Breakfast was very nice with homemade jams, breads, pancakes etc BUT could take ages to get even a cup of coffee as there was only 1 person serving. Why not lay out tables with the basics in advance, covered with flynetting, and bring freshly cooked items as guests arrive?leaving coffee jugs etc on the table would help and/or rearranging it as a buffet. Staff generally very polite and helpful but service could be erratic- eg on my first night I was ignored for 20 minutes until someone remembered to offer me dinner! Rooms clean, quirky and attractive but lighting quite gloomy- not easy to read in bed(older travellers do this quite a lot!) Overall master switch meant you either slept with light on or could not charge device overnight

"Wonderful oasis in heart of medina"
The décor was tasteful and well thought-through, the room was comfortable and luxurious and the breakfast on the sunny terrace delicious. We had a last minute late arrival, and the staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful. We treated ourselves to the hammam and massage package, and it was worth every penny. Highly recommend Dar El Kebira as an oasis of peace and comfort for your next getaway in the heart of the Rabat medina!

"A simple but good place to stay"
This hotel is the closest you'll get to a true Moroccan styled building. You get the feeling you're living with a sultan in his home. The staff are great. It does not have many services like a restaurant or admin services but it's sister hotel just a few yards away does. This hotel is a quiet base to live in while you explore other restaurants and experiences. The great thing is that it is located inside the Medina, so you feel like you're living in the past. Overall, this is a great hotel to live in if you're planning to walk around and experience the many great options in the area.

"Great Place to Stay in Rabat"
We spent two nights at Riad Zyo on arrival to Morocco and after two weeks of here and half dozen other riads, I have to say that Zyo definitely was one of the better places we stayed at. The room was big enough, the heat was sufficient (we were there at the end of November), all of the fixtures were in good working order, comfortable bed, strong water pressure, good Wi-Fi signal and a really good breakfast. The staff was friendly, spoke English well, and helped with many things. And the location was great – the little alley Zyo is located on is just off Mohammed V Avenue, the main street in the medina. So when we came out of our rooms there were plenty of food options, retail services, etc. Finally, I have to say something about the décor – most of the riads we stayed at went for the traditional look and often felt like a bed and breakfast in the United States where they fill up the room with rustic items to create “atmosphere”. And part of the effect is also to make it dimly lit. While I enjoyed this atmosphere at first, I have to say that I kind of got tired being in dimly lit rooms with loads of 19th century Arabic knick-knacks. I really liked Riad Zyo because it was bright and airy and had a modern design sensibility. Not a Western look, but a very modern, very Moroccan look. Good for them! If you are going to be in Rabat, I would highly recommend the Zyo.

Medina of Rabat is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Medina of Rabat, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Medina of Rabat hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
