"My stay in Le Suffren hotel, Mauritius"
It's a beautiful hotel located at the pier in the city of Port-Louis, Mauritius. My first impression was very pleasant, which was maintained throughout my stay. Very humble and polite staff members make me felt at home. The services were excellent, the facilities fully equipped with the gym, spa, pool and other luxuries, restaurant serving fresh hot meals everyday, and the smiles were unlimited and free. We felt like in our own home. If I visit again, I will stay there.

"Lovely quiet retreat"
Wonderful relaxing stay. This is a very quiet hotel, however there is a shuttle bus into Port Louis which has a fairly vibrant waterfront and a great market heaving with haggling locals. I would recommend hiring a car, at about £35/day. They drive on the left so no problems for British, Australian and New Zealanders. Ille Aux Cerfs was marvellous with a water taxi taking you out to the truly tropical paradise islands, taxi ride takes 5 minutes. It takes 40 - 45 minutes to get to the embarkation point by car. About 90 minutes by buses, changing at Flacq. Each bus costs 30 Rupees or 60p in sterling. Between Port Chambly and Grand Bay there are a number of lovely beaches, surprisingly well catered for and very cheap. Grand Bay itself and the adjoining Perrybere are quite vibrant with more restaurants and bars than anywhere else we went on the island.

"Disappointing start but improved with room change"
We arrived to a room that backed onto a noisy road, looked out on the back of another building and most disappointing, had not been cleaned properly. The next day we were moved to a room further away from the road and that was more quiet, cleaner and with a view of the pool. The staff at this hotel are absolutely lovely and are one of the best aspects of this hotel. The other positives are the beachside pool and the half board option with great meals. On the down side, in both rooms the bathroom screens flooded the floor with water whenever we had a shower. Also there is no ceiling vent in the bathrooms so the windows are left permanently fixed open. There are no screens on the windows so this lets ants, flying bugs and geckos into the room (hopefully the geckos eat the bugs but we were a little concerned about mosquitos). The rooms are not very well sound proofed so we were serenaded through the night by fighting dogs and nocturnal roosters who don't seem to know when dawn actually begins.

"Best Hotel I ever stayed in...Hands down."
Giving my honest Review. My experience didn't start that well with the hotel to begin with (due to partly my fault or lack of communication by hotel staff). However, these people know how to make it up for something that might not be their fault. I had one of the best experiences of my life staying at this hotel/resort. They do an exceptional job at whatever you ask them of. They simply know how to please the guest at any cost. I would just visit Mauritius again to see them, I am sort of in love with their hospitality. Staff is extremely friendly and always greets you with a smile. Management team is excellent as well.

Mauritius Island is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Mauritius Island, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Mauritius Island hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
