My husband and I were looking for a place to stay on Friday night so we can go to Carowinds on Saturday. We didn't want to pay alot of money because we only needed a place to rest our head, but we didn't want any ol' thing either. I found Sleep Inn while doing comparison shopping and view their website. It was nice and the rating where good. The hotel offered just what we wanted and the lady at check in was very nice to address our concerns. We will stay again if in the area and need to a place to rest our head.

My husband and I usually do a staycation near home once a month. The room was perfect for a midweek rendevous. We got the room for two nights, the first night was OK. The second night there was way too much going on in the hallway after 12am. The front desk staff seemed to be OK, not overly friendly. Housekeeping was absolutely awesome.

Hostess was most accomodating with breakfast to our schedule which changed every day. She was ready to have it early or late, whatever we needed. Location kept us out of south Charlotte's horrible traffic. When we went to supper at mall areas, we were going against LONG lines of work traffic. When we returned it was gone.

Someone double booked our room and we had strangers enter our room in the morning. Just glad we were there at the time! The front desk clerk "Mary" was wonderful and handled the situation like a professional. She was extremely friendly and outgoing.

Hotel is close to highways, restaurants and shopping. It offers free parking, free wifi, free breakfast and has a pool. Staff is outstanding. Only rooms with double beds offer refrigerator and microwave. Rooms are neat but smell musty, air is a little noisy and beds sink towards middle. However it is a good price if you just need a place to sleep.

Nice stay for cousin reunion for seniors. However, we had difficulty with our room. It was 2-3 hours before we received a room key that worked. The bathroom had a strong urine smell, and the window shade would not go all the way down, leaving a light coming through all night. I got to sleep around 4:00 am. A little disappointed, since we trust Hampton Inn in traveling. I think this hotel just needs a little updating.

Part of Metrolina, Matthews is one of several incorporated towns that serve as a bedroom community to Charlotte. Matthews’ centerpiece is its stately brick colonial Town Hall, the seat of local government. Charlotte is easily accessible thanks to the area’s first urban highway, Independence Boulevard.
