We decided to head to Colorado Springs for the weekend to check out Garden of the Gods and Cave of the Winds. We're from Denver, so wanted to just stay the night one night, but didn't need anything fancy, just a comfortable place to sleep. This Days Inn was in our price range (after taxes about $85) had a pool, hot tub and continental breakfast-which was a requirement for me. The breakfast was good, pretty average. The waffles were great! Breakfast ends at 9:30 and we got down there at 9 and all the eggs and biscuits were out and didn't get re-filled that I know of, so that was kind of a bummer. The lady that greeted me at check was was super friendly and made me feel very comfortable! Great staff! This location is right in between Garden of the Gods and Cave of the Winds and had easy access to our selected destinations. It's on a strip of motels and hotels, and I think this one was probably the nicest. Bed were nice and firm and comfortable and we had a nice room by the creek so our window was open and we got to fall asleep to the babbling creek. All in all, for a free breakfast and a comfortable place to sleep, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a night or two stay!

This is a great local motel, conveniently located easy off US24. The front desk staff is friendly, the breakfast is good, the rooms are comfortable. Only quibble is that the Internet service is poor, but we were told it's being upgraded. I'd return here.

We stayed 1 night. Made reservations thru Expedia 5 hours before arrival. Info said to call if you are later than 8:30 as office closes at that time. I called at 7:30; gal who answered was snippy & frustrated checking in others, said we had not reservation and would check more paperwork then call back in the AM! I said that was too late.
I called Expedia Cust Service who called the motel and verified our reservation. I called the motel back. She was much nicer and confirmed it. She stayed at the office until we arrived at 9 when she was nicer & apologetic.
Parking was limited - 4 other guests didn't know how to park! 2 motorcycles took up 2 spaces, a trailer took up 1, & 2 spaces were not accessible because vehicles parked over the line and the spaces were too narrow for a med sized SUV. After looking for 5 min we got the 1 parking space left in an isolated spot between the hot tub and side street.
Room WAS very clean and quiet. Window AC worked. Mini-fridge w/freezer and microwave were nice to have. Water pressure in shower was average and water temp fluctuated. Not a lot of outlets for charging phones, computer
They do have wifi but it took a while to get the sign-in info in the hotel info book in the room. They didn't give it to us at check-in and we couldn't reach them later that night.
They did give a good recommendation for a meal - few places open at 9:30 pm. Free breakfast was continental - bagels and cream cheese - the basics.

Travelers making the ascent to Pikes Peak often stop in Manitou Springs before driving or boarding the train to the summit. The cog railway to Pikes Peak is the highest in North America; a roundtrip takes about 3 hours.
