"Conveniently located with nice breakfast included"
We trained down with heavy luggage from Basel after a river cruise and we're thankful to find this hotel an easy walk across the street. I've never paid $230/night off season for a 3.5 star hotel but turned out it was worth it. Swiss standards are nice! Seemed at first i would miss being in the old town area but it was equally nice and safe and i would stay there again without hesitation. The staff was great and stored our luggage safely until our room was ready. Internet is free and FAST. We had a triple room with a single sofa bed for our daughter. She said she could feel the bars so if someone is picky could be a problem. The bathroom was tight but adequate. The included breakfast spread had nice proteins like scrambled eggs bacon and sausages and yogurt as well as lovely croissants and breads and spreads and yummy CHEESES. Coffee and juices included and cappuccino on request was free too. And do take advantage and fill up at breakfast cause the rest of your meals in Lucerne will run you $20- $30pp for lunch and $40- $80pp for dinner and that is at moderate restaurants. Lastly, the hotel gives you a local bus pass. We used ours to take a 15 minute ride on bus #1 out to the Mt Pilatus lift. Oh and one more recommendation if you like healthy Thai food is a place called Cha Cha about 10 minute walk from hotel. It is right across the street from Radisson Blu hotel.

The room was wonderful-quite spacious with wood flowers and a fantastic view of lake Lucerne. The bathroom was also modern and specious. We visited in late December and the room was very hot all the time, but there was no thermostat in the room. We ended up opening the windows each night to let some cool air in.
The hotel has a bus stop right out front. The bus comes every 15 minutes and drops you right in front of city center or the train station which was very convenient for us.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay here at Hermitage.

This hotel is in an excellent location. On the banks of the Lucerne river. The decor is so beautiful and the rooms are very spacious. If you can afford it book the rooms on the river side. The views are magnificent.
