"Lovely, quiet stay at the level"
Asides from our room not being ready at check in (or two hours after the fact) our stay at the melia level was really lovely. We were close to the beach and the pools and the cuatro restaurant, so travel back and forth wasn't a big deal it was all very walkable. The level pool is amazing (although deep!) and you never have to jockey to find a pool chair OR a beach chair. the beach is very nice (a tad seaweedy but better than the surrounding hotels). The food was really nice -- cooked vegetables available at lunch, fresh fruit, tons of seafood and meats. The variety wasn't great but I never had trouble finding something to eat. This place does meats very well! I don't think I had one meal I didn't like. The resort is large, but it's walkable to the front two lobbies. There are several restaurants up there, but we liked the food at the cuatro restaurants best. There are some really great servers, bartenders and cooks there. Their english IS spotty, though. There really is a language barrier. A bit disorganized, but it was fine. The resort IS very quiet though. The pool doesn't even play music all the time, there are hardly any activities/games (and the schedule is VERY hard to find). It was kind of sleepy. They have good entertainment up front however -- excellent dancers! Though their music system isn't great, the performers do a good job! The rooms weren't anything fabulous -- not a lot of storage, but they were just fine.

"Beautiful Resort with Great Restaurants!!"
My daughter and I decided to take a 4 day getaway to Punta Cana, and chose Melia Caribe Tropical! We were both very impressed with the friendliness of the staff... The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. I requested the room to be closed to the beach and pool area-only a three minute walk. The staff at this resort made sure we were comfortable at all times; from the waiters at each restaurant, to the cleaning lady who attended our room, to the staff at the pool making our drinks, to the zumba dancers Alex and Nelly, to the groundskeeper who offered us fresh coconuts from the palm trees!!! I can't express how satisfied we both felt!!They made our stay a very special one for us!!! I have a lot of gratitude towards them...One thing that bothered me was actually behavior from the travelers, some were arrogant and were getting upset at the staff because of the communication issues! Not everyone speaks English in the world!!!

"Little Gem close to the beach "
Think of this as a bed and breakfast in the DR. It's not fancy, but updated and charming. The food was good at the restaurants within walking distance and we had dinner by the pool at the Asian resturant for around $40 usd including drinks. The rooms were clean and updated. The front desk staff was ok, one guy was snarky and put out we were asking things, and one was friendly. Depends on who you get. Housekeeping and resturant staff was friendly. Walking distance to markets and the Joy popcicle stand/cafe which was yummy. We noticed in the DR that most don't speak any English so it's helpful to be able to communicate on at least an elementary level in Spanish. The pool was clean and shaded by palm trees and well maintained property. The beach is a two minute walk out the back of the resort and they have a security guard 24/7 who stands at the walkway to the beach. I was not hassled at all. There were mosquitoes when we went in March so being bug spray if you are in the gardens area. We rode a taxi to bubiagua and took a catamaran ride with gringos outfit. He is Canadian so easy to communicate with. A lot of party boats and college kids sloshing drinks around when we went, which is not our scene, so you have to make sure they don't put you on one of those boats unless you like that. There is a straw market there too. I heard prices are cheaper in the capital city but it was an hour drive and $90 taxi there and bad so we declined.

"Very nice resort"
We had a great time at this resort. Upgrading to the VIP was well worth it. This was our first time staying at an Adults Only and we loved it. We are going back to the DR in January with friends and will definitely be staying at Secrets again. Excellent staff, beautiful resort and we have no complaints.

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Los Corales Beach, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Los Corales Beach hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
