"Palm Bay Indulgence"
Long Island may be the closest island to the mainland, but it feels worlds away from all of the hustle and bustle. Palm Bay Resort offers everything - total relaxation - active bush walks - beautiful sunrises and sunsets - snorkeling - kayaking - wildlife - swimming pool and sauna - full service bar - spa Caroline and her staff provided first rate service in a beautiful, tropical getaway. Our bungalow was clean and well maintained as were all of the facilities on the resort. This was our first "self-catering" island holiday, and we really enjoyed it. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery, cutlery, pots & pans, and utensils. We liked the flexibility of eating what and when we wanted. Whitsundays Provisions delivered our food order and we were impressed. The food was fresh, the meats were top quality, and the portions were just right. We will be back.

Pocket Guide: Airlie Beach Long Island Hotels

Long Island certainly lives up to its name, being 9 km long but only 400 meters across at its widest point. Fringed with breathtaking white sand beaches and laced with 13 km of National Park walking tracks, it is a nature lover's paradise. Visitors who want to do more than just swing in a hammock can enjoy kayaking, or snorkeling with the island's turtles.
