"Lovely hotel and pool... grounds are beautiful... "
I love this area visited here a few times..the hotel room and grounds are beautiful...the cooked breakfast was poor very undercooked ..though the service was excellent...the pool area was good but for the size of the hotel it was rather small although not very busy we had to wait for jacuzzi then the steam room then the hot tub so not great hanging around waiting....there are lots of lovely places in this area so on my next trip I won't be going back here even though my stay was enjoyable with an Expedia deal ..I wouldn't be happy about paying full price to go here.....

"Lovely hotel but they stopped servkng food at 8 "
The hotel was nice and cosy and good value for money, the only thing was that they stopped serving food at 8 which was a bit inconvenient especially for visitors wanting to see surroundings and explore as much as they can before it gets dark. Would still recommend the hotel for a nice break away.

A very nice B&B, clean and light and with very friendly and welcoming owners. We were welcomed as we arrived to the door and greeted in a nice way. We were shown around the B&B, where the lounge was, our room and anything we needed to know.
Every night the hosts would start the fire ready for when you would come back after a day of adventure and could chat with ease. The hosts would recommend where to go and what roads to take. In the evening the hosts would ask when you would like breakfast the next morning and went out of their way to help us by getting vegetarian food for us.
Would recommend anyone to come here as is a beautiful place and nice owners. They were a real part of our holiday and really made it special.

Hotel has character and charm which was really enhanced by a log fire which burned night and day! This gave the rather small lounge area a very cosy feel. The breakfasts in the Merlin restaurant were very good , as was the bar menu, which was served in the lounge. Unfortunately dinner in the Merlin was not so good... Brightly lit with no table cloths or candles and therefore lacking in ambience. Two menus where dishes could not be swapped so to order the steak it was necessary to order a four course menu which i did not want... This was a pity as the food was actually quite tasty. The staff at dinner although inexperienced were very pleasant! All in all we had an enjoyable stay.

I truly enjoyed my three days in Balloch and this is also true of my stay in Palumbo's. Franco, his wife and all the people who work there were very nice and personable, just great people! Breakfast was included in the lodging price and I the food was very good and there was plenty to eat.
Palumbo's is very close to the train stop right at Balloch Road. There is a Co Op food market within a quarter mile of Palumbo's. I am hoping to visit again and will be sure to reserve a room at Palumbo's.
