"Great Little Ryokan with a Private Onsen"
We mainly chose this ryokan due to its private onsen you could rent for a small fee, which allows people with tattoos, and the ride that Mr. Yumoto offers to the monkey park for free. The room was cozy with an A/C unit that worked very well during the hot/humid day we were there. While my friend and I visited during the summer, we still wanted to experience the hot springs. The private onsen is located outdoors with an amazing view of the town from the top of the hills and I would recommend renting it during the evening. The next morning, Mr. Yumoto drove us to the monkey park. The hike up the park was very scenic and pleasant while being cool even during the middle of summer, and I would highly recommend visiting the park as soon as they open. Both Mr. and Mrs. Yumoto were very nice and pleasant, making sure we had a comfortable stay.

"Fantastic relaxing Onsen"
I had read previous reviews (as you do) before we went to the Biyunoyado and was happy to see it score so well but i was still pleasantly surprised with the place. From the moment we arrived the staff were lovely to the very moment we left, we decided to make the short walk back to the train station ourselves to stretch the legs before the train journey to sendai and we had one of the staff run over to ask if we needed a lift and we were also being waved off by two of the others. The Onsen are lovely, it's nice that they switch round so that you can enjoy both of the rooms, both are lovely so either way you are not hard done to! We also decided to rent the private onsen on the roof for the 40 minutes and i'm really glad we did, it was really relaxing and it was nice to have the time to ourselves and for such a small cost it's such a bargain! There's a free shuttle to the snow monkeys which is worth doing as the walk wouldn't be great, and we found the staff so welcoming and helpful, it really seemed like they were happy to help. We also decided to have the Japanese breakfast instead of the Western and i'm glad we did as it really enabled us to enjoy the full traditional experience, I can understand that it may not be for everyone but I would really urge anyone to give it a go. We stayed for 2 nights after doing the Magome to Tsumago Nakasendo highway and i honestly couldn't think of a better way to relax or rave about it more!

"Good value hotel close to town and station"
10 mins walk from Nagano station, this hotel is well located and the rooms are larger than normal for Japanese hotels. Built about 20 years ago (probably for the Winter Olympics in 1998), it is still a modern hotel with good quality facilities.

"Affordable and Convenient Hotel- Pleasant Stay"
As with most business style hotels in Japan, rooms are small but very clean and comfortable. Nice bed and shower, which ultimately is what we are looking for when traveling anywhere. Extremely convenient to the train station, to restaurants and convenient stores, also walking distance to the major temple-"Zenko-ji". Perfect all-around for what we went to Nagano for. I would recommend this hotel as a wonderful budget option. One draw back though was first trying to find the hotel. Since it is inside a complex, it was a bit hard to find for us at first when we came into town late at night. But that was the only inconvenience of the hotel.

"Most expensive hotel of our honeymoon but WORTH IT"
This was the last place we stayed during our honeymoon trip to Korea and Japan — we had the "Japanese Style with Open Air Bath B (Take)" room which was massive and featured an outdoor bathing area with piped in hot spring water. We had an amazing host who explained everything about the room, a spectacular dinner was included, and overall a really magical evening. Definitely worth the cost. Still thinking about our time there...

Lake Nojiri is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Lake Nojiri, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Lake Nojiri hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
