Lugano Dante was a great experience. I had stayed there ten years ago and was determined to return. It has a great location, exemplary staff, very ice rooms, and a phenomenal breakfast! I will always stay at Dante when in Lugano.

This is a lovely hotel overlooking Lake Lugano. We stayed in the main hotel so we had great views. Pool was lovely and service was very good. It is nice to be out of the "busy-ness" of the main part of the city but you are still only about a 5 minute car ride to very good restaurants in the historical town. Included buffet breakfast was wonderful.

I stayed at the Hotel De La Paix 28-30 June. The building and grounds are up-to-date and well-kept. The staff was friendly, the rooms were comfortable, and the breakfast fresh and delicious. Our room had a balcony with a lovely view of Lake Lugano and Monte San Salvatore.

Small room but nice modern interior. Flooring was nice as it didn't turn cold considering it was 1 degree celcius outside in Nov end. Shower cubicle was flawed and water used to flow out on the floor outside the cubicle.
However, the location is strategic as its a 5 mins walk to gorgeous Lake Lugano.

Our check in was handled by a very helpful young lady who took the time to actually take us to our room (instead of just telling us where it was), pointing out the locations of the restaurants, bar, pool, etc on the way. A nice touch which should be more common as it made us feel really welcome.
Our room was a great size with plenty of room and good air-con which was a blessing on such a hot day. Our balcony had room for a small table, two chairs and a sun lounger, and had a lovely view of the lake and Lugano.
The town is about a 20 min walk along the lake side, but the hotel is right next to a bus stop if you don't feel like walking. If walking back to the hotel, it is up a really steep hill which may make life difficult if you had luggage/pushchairs etc.
We ate at the restaurant a couple of nights, and the food was excellent. Didn't try the Japanese part but it looked fascinating.
We would definitely stay here again should we return to Lugano in the future.

Ticino’s business and cultural center is located lakeside and surrounded by mountains. Visitors to Lugano’s historic city center should put on walking shoes to wander the cobblestoned streets and piazzas. High-end shops line Via Nassa and merchants sell produce at Piazza della RiForma’s outdoor market. Degas and Renoir are on display at Museo Cantonale d'Arte while magnolias, camellias, and sub-tropical plants fill the city parks.
