Vacationing with daughters and grandkids. Terrific location and rooms were very nice and quiet. Walking distance to Laguna and the free trolley stop was within 1/2 half block of hotel. Does not have a restaurant but lots of choices in Laguna. Complimentary wine on the oceanside deck was just great. Kudos to the hotel staff!

We wanted a few days in Laguna to enjoy the beach and some cooler weather. We enjoyed the walkability of this location an the fact that it was on the main trolley line. We didn't need a car. We could easily get the the beaches and restaurants.

Beautiful location. A little busy though. There were two weddings and a huge baby shower the weekend we were there. We had a ground level suite with a patio and we felt like we were in a fishbowl because the events were right off of our patio. Most of the staff were phenomenal and exceptionally good at their jobs. A few of the staff were a little clueless and contradicted their exceptional colleagues. The food was really exceptional. Perhaps the best resort food I have ever experienced.

"Nice resort away from the highway but still close "
Newly redecorated rooms are very well done and the end was very comfortable. Main lobby still under renovation so check in location wasn't the easiest to find, but check-in staff was very friendly. Really good complimentary happy hour food was a real treat, although the pool bar staff needs a refresher course on hospitality. Great location in the canyons off of the highway but an easy walk to a number of nice beaches (they have a golf cart shuttle to the beach, but it is close enough for an easy walk). Free WiFi and free parking, which is unheard of in SoCal resorts. Great value for the price. We'll be back.

We stayed in one of the newly renovated ocean front rooms. The room was nice and very clean. The view was AMAZING and worth splurging on. We saw sea lions from our room and enjoyed room service on the balcony. Room service prompt and food was very good.
One complaint is the hotel ran out if beach towels in Sunday. They don't have enough beach towels for all of their guests!?. It was almost 3:00 PM before we were able to get more beach towels. We stayed with our young kids and had to borrow towels from other people. That's not acceptable. The staff was nice and set up lounge chairs, chairs and umbrellas for us. Guests should know to make sure to get to the beach early to get a good spot on the sand before the lunge chairs are gone. By 10:30 am the lounge chairs were gone on weekends. We were still able to get a good spot with umbrella and beach chairs.
Out of town guests need to know that on the weekend the hotel restaurants are hotspots for locals and are very busy. We couldn't get a same day reservation at either restaurant and the walk-in wait is 1-2 hours for dinner. We tried to make a reservation at 1:00pm and they were booked. So make weekend dinner reservations in advance. Its also very crowded for lunch since the restaurants are on the beach... I'd make advanced reservations for lunch on weekends too. In my opinion the servers and bartenders are short-staffed. They need to hire more workers on the weekend! They were VERY courteous but seemed spread thin to us!

We were celebrating our anniversary, and the staff went out of their way, giving us one of the best views, and surprising us with a bottle of champagne, and a delicious slice of cheesecake with fresh berries delivered to our room.

Reality TV portrays Laguna Beach as the land of the young and spoiled. But beneath this veneer is a city rooted in the arts. The Laguna Playhouse is one of the oldest theaters in the West Coast. The city also hosts the annual Festival of the Arts/Pageant of the Masters and the Sawdust Art Festival. West of Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove State Park’s unspoiled beach attracts snorkelers and divers.
