From the moment we walked down the stairs of this beautiful property built on the hillside, we were greeted by a warm and gracious staff. We were quickly checked in and upgraded to the mission suite accessible through a private path and door. The suite was filled with "old-world" charm yet had all the modern amenities we could ask for. The bathroom was large and spacious with the luxury cowshed brand products. The complimentary breakfast was small but adequate with excellent quiche and coffee. The only suggestion I could provide for this resort would be to add an extra staff member. The morning and evening front desk guys do an excellent job with a smile on their faces, but they really do everything. From answering phones and checking guests in to making breakfast and room service to cleaning up after others. They are extremely busy and an extra staff member would certainly help.

Beautiful location. A little busy though. There were two weddings and a huge baby shower the weekend we were there. We had a ground level suite with a patio and we felt like we were in a fishbowl because the events were right off of our patio. Most of the staff were phenomenal and exceptionally good at their jobs. A few of the staff were a little clueless and contradicted their exceptional colleagues. The food was really exceptional. Perhaps the best resort food I have ever experienced.

Perfect location. Close to the beach, but yet quite and secluded. Tucked in between the canyons. Hotel room is nicely decorated. Hotel stuff are wonderful. Will be perfect once the construction is complete.

We had a great week here and were very happy with the hotel. We would definitely stay here again. Whilst rooms are a little small they are clean and the entire place has a lot of character.
It was handy that we could use a nearby local gym, included in the resort fee, but since I run a lot I often went out and ran along the coast cos it's so pretty and the hills make it a good workout.
There is a good 25m (or yard) local swimming pool at the High School open to the public a few minutes' drive away which I have used on a previous stay in Laguna.
We didn't dine at the hotel as we ate out every night. Downtown was about a 15 minute walk.

It's not right ON the ocean by soo close enough. There is only partial ocean views and of the city but was still very beautiful. The pool was heated and salt water, small but was never really over crowded. Everything about the room was perfect, comfortable bed and sofa area, clean bathroom and Hot water with great pressure. 2 bathrobes instead of just one!! I thought was nice. they great you with milk and cookies!!! They tasted great and I thought was such a different thing to do. The staff was extremely nice and helpful with anything. Katie was the best! Parking was easy in and out (underground) the snacks and drinks were stocked in our rooms, restaurants and beaches within a 3-5 minute drive or maybe a 10-20 minute walk. Lots of hills around!! Look for Victoria street, traveling more south on the pacific hywy. Maybe 7 minutes away, is Victoria beach! Soo beautiful to see, and also crescent bay beach, 3 minutes north up the hywy. There's little walkways threw some residential areas. Perfect location for a beautiful little hotel at a reasonable price considering the area.

Beautiful hotel and surroundings with very attentive and helpful staff. Shuttle bus takes you to the beach and is available at all times. Restaurant food was superb! When we first arrived I wanted to give this hotel a 5 star rating as it certainly created that impact but then a few things happened that made me rethink. 1. When we went for breakfast on sunday morning we were told that there was no room and we had to go to the golf shop/restaurant. It was a few minutes away on the shuttle. We placed our order and then waited 35 minutes on our breakfast, there was one other table in the place, which we inquired about twice. Our son waited a further 5 minutes on the french toast he ordered. Bill total was $90 so not cheap for the wait and inconvenience. We were told on arrival that the golf bags would be brought to the club, we checked this later that day and had it confirmed. When we arrived the next day to play they were not there and we had to wait for them to be brought to us. On check out with requested our clubs be left at reception as we were leaving at 6.00am and could not afford delays, we were told they had already been brought up. When we checked out they were not there and then we went to club the bags had not even been packed yet. Finally, the other disappointment was the beach there are no lounge beds and no beach service, something I thought would have been standard at this resort.

Reality TV portrays Laguna Beach as the land of the young and spoiled. But beneath this veneer is a city rooted in the arts. The Laguna Playhouse is one of the oldest theaters in the West Coast. The city also hosts the annual Festival of the Arts/Pageant of the Masters and the Sawdust Art Festival. West of Laguna Beach, Crystal Cove State Park’s unspoiled beach attracts snorkelers and divers.
