Wonderful hotel. Spacious, clean room. Comfortable bedding. Large lanai with lounge chair and table. The pool was clean, beautiful, and warm. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas around the pool, on the lawn, and out on the beach--no matter what you were looking for, it was available. Prices at the restaurant/bar by the pool seemed high, but the food was very good and the sunset view while we ate our dinner was perfect.

This was my 9th time stays in the big island.
I stayed at Mauna Lani Point last September and this time.
I believe this condo is the best in Hawaii.
It was so different from staying at a hotel.
The room is very big and clean.

We were looking for a place to stay on the Kona side of the island for a family of 6, and found Paniolo Greens to be a convenient location with a very reasonable price. It is not on the beach, but has access to the beaches within 15-20 minutes and also puts you closer to Mano Loa and Hilo to visit that side of the island. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our flight out was very late in the day and the staff let us leave our luggage at the reception building in a conference room that was locked, and we were able to spend our last day snorkeling and still fly home clean as they let us borrow a number of beach towels to take out to the beach, then shower in the bathrooms there in the check-in building prior to heading to the airport. I had no complaints about this place and would recommend it to anyone traveling with a larger family.

The condo is located in heart of the Waikaloa area in the middle of the beach golf coarse. Our room overlooked the 4th hole about 250 yards down the fairway. The pool was clean an within a 2 minute walk. Gas grills were available for grilling near the pool. The Kings and Queens shops are a 10 minute walk away. You can purchase almost anything required or desired at these shops.

Fairmont Orchid lived up to my expectations. Our room was ready upon arrival and the property was comfortable and beautiful. Really enjoyed stopping by the turtle habitat to watch the turtles resting on the beach. There was a nearby departure for whale watching, scuba diving and other water sports.

The location is stunning and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were quiet but the facilities were a little frayed around the edges. . I thought the dining options were limited, but it is easy to buy food locally and eat on the lanai. The cats in the restaurants and on the counters were annoying.

Pocket Guide: Hawaii Kohala Coast - Waikoloa Hotels
Luxury resorts, sprawling golf courses, and white sands line the Kohala Coast – Waikoloa. Hawaii’s sunniest coast is a must-go for beachgoers. It is also known as the cradle to King Kamehameha, Hawaii’s greatest king. His influence can be seen at the nearby Pu’ukohola Heiau National Historic Site, where visitors can see the temple of war he built before unifying the Hawaiian Islands.
