Needed a place to stay before heading on down The coast, this hotel worked perfectly – courteous and friendly staff nice location and great hot breakfast. Rooms are not large and are not fancy but clean and perfectly suit the Outer Banks area.

I was nervous about keeping our reservation after reading some of the reviews but I'm pleased we kept it. It was a great price and a clean room. It had a cabin like smell to it but the salty air trough the air conditioner was likely the cause and it wasn't much of a bother. The hotel staff was incredibly polite and helpful and we loved the area it was located in. Overall I would recommend for a stay of you just plan to sleep in the room. We explored during the day and went to dinner and the beach for night exploration so we truly only slept in the room.

When we arrived, our room was on the first floor. We were oceanfront but could only see the back of the dunes, no ocean view.
I went to the front desk and they immediately changed us to a 5th floor room. The cost increase was only $25 more and was well worth it. So nice to see sunrise on the ocean.
The free breakfast was very good. A lot of choices.
A great stay for us. We will stay there again.

This hotel is centrally located and right on the beach. The room was a good size and beds were comfortable and clean. The motel is dated and the overall cleanliness could have been better. Overall though for the price it is a good place to stay!

Kill Devil Hills, the Outer Banks’ oldest township, is the site of the first heavier-than-air powered flight. On December 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright made four historic flights at the base of a big hill that is now part of the Wright Brothers National Memorial. Kill Devil Hills is also home to the Outer Banks Daredevils of the Coastal Plain League, a collegiate summer baseball league.
