We arrived early and were graciously allowed to check into our room. Room was clean and full kitchen made our stay feel more like home. Fresh towels every day. Breakfast was sufficient. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us.

This hotel is right on the beach and will rent/set up beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. for you. There is a great outside bar, unfortunately it closes rather early. The rooms are decent, but the bathrooms could use an upgrade. The water pressure is pretty bad and the showers/tubs are kind of grimy. But the restaurant is reasonable and given the location and price, overall it's a pretty good deal.

It's not a major chain hotel, so you don't expect much and that's what you get. They try hard though. The staff was nice, they provide warm cookies and a fair breakfast. If you don't mind walking up a couple of stairs to get to your room, because they don't have an elevator and you shouldn't expect perfect conditions with respect to furnishings, then you'll be just fine. I'd expect to pay $80-100 for a room in a hotel such as this, but in peak season at the beach, you pay more. It's still less than the "big boys" want for a room and if the big chains are all booked up, then this place is just fine.

"Loud, noisy we didn't get much sleep the whole week"
It's convenient to the beach.breakfest was ok.it has a very small dining room. Pool was nice and clean.elevator broke while we were there.i talked to the poor guy that got stuck in it . He spent 45 min.trapped in there like an oven.my only real complaint is the loudness. Ice maker all night, people yelling.

Kill Devil Hills, the Outer Banks’ oldest township, is the site of the first heavier-than-air powered flight. On December 17, 1903, Wilbur and Orville Wright made four historic flights at the base of a big hill that is now part of the Wright Brothers National Memorial. Kill Devil Hills is also home to the Outer Banks Daredevils of the Coastal Plain League, a collegiate summer baseball league.
