There's nothing fancy going on here. There's a bed. There's a/c. There's a clean and functioning bathroom. If you plan like most to spend your days outside of the hotel room and use the space as a crash and shower pad then you really can't go wrong. The location is beyond amazing. Best beach spot. Hotel is situated right on the beach. Also you're in walking distance of many spots to eat. Definitely recommend for the value and convenience. Across the literal lawn is also a well stocked convenience store and water activities rentals - so you don't have to go far for anything.

The gentleman who checked us in was very nice & informative about the hotel & the area. Apart from the bathrooms, which were showing their age & the hairy bedroom carpet, the rest of the place was cool. There's a pool & a workout room. Their grounds were well maintained with a designated smoking area.

"For whatever reason, the above ratings are not wor"
I asked for a bottom unit as I rented this for a family with 5 children. They were put in the 3rd floor unit "as there are no guarantees that you will get what you ask for" so beware. The unit was "homey" (renter's words) and had lots of swim equipment in a box on the patio which was nice. We ended up putting 2 adult couples in this unit instead (we were there as a huge family gathering) as the walkway to the unit was 3 stories up with an iron railing looking over a center garden area which was very nice but totally inappropriate for the little kids that were supposed to be staying there. The view was beautiful! The hotel has signs up as being absolutely non-smoking but the front desk area wreaked of cigs so obviously the staff never got the no smoking message. They were less than helpful, but we didn't have to deal with them much anyway.

Condo living. Completely furnished. Just like walking in to your own home. Beach chairs and umbrella included. All kitchenware plus extras I don't even have. HD tv with all of the channels. We were lucky to have 8 days of perfect Maui weather. 2 swimming pools. Tennis court. No view from our unit but still beautifully manicured lawns shrubbery.

My husband and I have stayed at Sugar Beach twice and have had a wonderful time each time. The facilities are great, the beach is terrific, and the condos are comfortable. We had a little trouble when we checked in initially this time - we were assigned a condo that just wasn't up to par. It was shabby and dingy, not very clean, and had a very uncomfortable bed. The CRHI agent said nothing else was available for us. The next day, after I replied to Expedia's inquiry about how check-in went, Sharla from CRHI called me right away and got us into a much nicer unit. I do appreciate CRHI's willingness to make it right for us and the power of Expedia to get the process going.

Kihei has many big-city amenities, including notable restaurants. Here, visitors can sample Hawaiian cuisine and learn about the state’s obsession with SPAM, the canned meat. Kihei’s beaches—Kamaole, Keawakapu, Kihei, and Mai Poina—are good for walking, swimming, and windsurfing. Makena Beach, south of Kihei, is aptly nicknamed the Big Beach. This beach is 100 yards wide and almost a mile long.
