Our reservation for 5 days was prepaid. Upon arrival, they couldn't find our reservation but because we prepaid (with receipt) they shuffled things and gave us a suite on the canal instead of a regular room with a view of the parking lot. This switch made all the difference in the world. We used the hotel as a base for our exploring the Florida Keys and each evening we sat on the balcony and watched the marine travel in the canal. Very pleasant. The suite was quite outdated but was clean.

Check was easy...I was suprised to see that the hotel is situated within 50 feet of a radio/cell tower. The highway noise was significant, however if you got a waterfront room, you wouldn`t notice it.
The room was fine. King bed and a little sitting area with fridge and micro. Walls are thin, though, and we shared a wall with a baby who woke up crying just before midnight.
The cleaning was decent, but if you like everything to look sanitized and new, find another hotel. This is a no frills kind of place.
We came with two kids 7 and 11, and it was heaven for them (they don`t mind paint peeling off the walls). Great place for families who like a DIY vacation.

They are located right on the water. There is an outdoor area to sit and watch the sunset. Front desk staff was very friendly. Great atmosphere. My only compliant was the mattress was too firm for our comfort.

we loved this place, minimal amenties, ie. no coffee in the room, but great party on Sunday night in the big Tiki Bar. View of the water and big boats was nice. Decent breakfast. The traffic was bad on route. Gilberts is north of Key Largo and it was a long drive to Key West, which is a cool place.

Only stayed one night. The beds were very comfortable. Very quiet. The only problem we had was light coming in around the curtains. We had them closed as much as possible but light was shining from the store next door. The light shined directly onto all of the pillow areas. We tried to push curtain over, but it was no help. Other than that, it was very nice.
