We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo with ocean views. Everything we needed for a lovely week by the ocean was provided including towels to take to the beach or pool. The location is wonderful, being able to walk out by the marina and fish the salt water flats without a boat makes for easy recreation. The pool has been recently updated and is just lovely! The beach area, though small, is just enough and has beach loungers and a little shady area too. It is 'home away from home' vacationing so if you're looking for room service and spas this is not for you. The staff were very helpful, but there are not too many amenities. A nice treat is the small bar by the pool serving cold drinks most of the day. We did not try the cafe so I cannot speak to the quality of the food there. A lot of time and care was evident in the upkeep of the grounds and there seemed to be improvements being done. Overall a relaxing week with gorgeous surroundings.

The rooms are only cleaned twice a week and the patio door was so hard to open it made using the patio an inconvenience. Ceiling fans were noisy, but useable. The staff was awesome and very accommodating. Location was great and being at the sundiver dock was a plus. The pool is great and open 24/7, which is hard to find stateside.

Great ocean access with a dock and ramp for guests. They also have a number of kayaks for free use. The hotel room was very small--I had the smallest room and it has a double bed and the room literally has 2' clearance on one side of the bed and 3' at the foot of the bed. The TV in the room was smaller than my computer monitor (and no I don't have a huge monitor...). But I didn't watch it and didn't spend any time in the room other than sleeping so I didn't care. I think the room was pretty clean, but the finishes are so old and in need of repair/remodel that it didn't feel very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was acceptable. All this being said, I would stay there again if I was looking for a hotel in the keys on a budget. If I was taking my wife for a getaway I would probably spend more and get a nicer place.

Dispite a few issues, we had a decent stay at the Holiday Inn Key Largo. This is an older motel in a central location in Key Largo. The front desk staff continually disappointed us. Not helpful at all. They acted like we were bothering them. When we were assigned to a room on the second floor, we weren't told there was no elevator. I had 2 very heavy bags. I went back to the front desk to see if we could get moved to a room on the bottom floor. The clerk informed me that "there were no rooms left on the bottom floor in the entire place. I then had to suggest myself, " is there anyone who could help us take our luggage up the stairs?". She made a call and a nice man carried our suitcases up for us.
The room was OK, but in need of some refurbishing.
The breakfast buffet was decent. The grounds were lush with tropical foliage. 2 pools were clean and uncrowded. A tiki bar served expensive drinks.
There is a Subway, Publix, ice cream shop within walking distance as well as a dockside seafood restaurant.
