This was our first stop for the night after flying into Raleigh. The place was quaint and comfortable and the staff was very nice. We walked downtown for dinner and enjoyed the old buildings and lightning bugs (we don't have them in CA)! The beds were comfortable and we had a good night. The bathrooms were clean, but a disappointment because they just didn't fit the look of the building. Milk and cookies was a nice treat in the parlor when we arrived and the breakfast in the morning was satisfying.

Excellent hotel but we did expierence a hair in the bed and a stain on the sheet and pillow case. Hotels can't be perfect, which is why I rated it 4 for cleanliness.
The location of the parking is in the back of the hotel in which you have to walk around to the front which isn't ideal.

Wonderful welcome. One of the staff pulled my suitcase up the stairs. Later, the bar tender gave great snack options. And the late night front desk guy had to come out in the pouring rain and open the security gate. My key card would not read.

Parking lot isn't complete, parked in gravel. The pictures gave me the impression that this was a new hotel, but it wasn't and the shower area wasn't as nice as I expected, rug seemed worn, other things just seemed a little overused and not quite as clean / new as I expected. For example, the elevators were also quite slow and the one had a really odd pause when the door was going to open -- it opened very slowly and made you wonder if you were going to be stuck. Otherwise it was an okay to decent hotel.

Hotel was nice, the staff was very friendly. I would just have 2 complaints. First, there are no ice machines. And the refrigerator in our room did not have an ice maker. So, that was a nuisance. Secondly, there was no extra chairs other than the small couch. It would be nice to have a couple extra chairs to be used in the dining area. Other than that, the hotel really is nice and I'd stay there again if I was in the area. I'd recommend to anyone!
