"Basic comfort for a conference"
We stayed at this hotel for an academic conference. It was fine, but the rooms are very hot in summer and have poor air circulation. The shower facilities are not great, as it has a wet room with no ventilation. The bed was not very comfortable and I could feel the springs in the mattress. One slightly odd feature is that the lights in the front foyer seemed to be automatic, but they didn't turn on in the evening so we had to go up the stairs in the dark. But, overall it was clean and fairly comfortable. As this is student accommodation, I would recommend it if you are attending a conference, but would suggest you look elsewhere if you are on holiday and want to relax.

"Ike in Canterbury"
This is student accommodation: well appointed, a vast improvement on my own student days The room is very good value for money. Organisation is a bit haphazard and parking on site would be really helpful. July booking but heating ON! Comfortable bed and pillows but as a small double bed it's too small for a couple. Breakfast poor with one person taking orders and preparing your breakfast then served to table. Conveniently located just on the outskirts of the city walls.

"Great budget stay!"
Booked for stay during daughter graduation. Quiet campus lodgings. It was easy to take the bus to town or if one had time, to walk down the hill to town-approx. 20 min. Breakfast was included and had the usual choice + hot items. No AC but a fan was provided in case of warmer weather. Everything was very clean -even got a travel bag with shampoo, conditioner, tissue, etc. A kettle, tea, coffee , spoons , etc. was provided in the room as well. A few of the towels were really thick and fluffy while others looked a bit aged. Bathroom/shower was sufficient and provided ample room for makeup etc. The two things I did not like was that the bed was a bit hard for my taste and our t.v. never worked the whole 3 days we were there even though we reported it. Overall, would definitely stay again.

"Comfortable and well equipped"
Had a very comfortable stay in a well equipped and spacious room. It felt more luxurious and less clinical than the town's Holiday Inns, which I normally use; the staff were friendly and it was nice to have a real room key! On a hot day with the windows open some people might be bothered by traffic noise from the nearby A28 but it didn't bother me. Sadly I had to leave early so wasn't able to try the breakfast included in the price.

"Solid stay in a pub/restaurant/inn"
We had a comfortable stay with a delicious breakfast and expected room amenities (bath products, TV, coffee, hair dryer, etc.). We stayed on a Friday night when they have live bands play. The atmosphere was nice and the band closed up around 11pm. Our only complaint is that because we were right above the band and our window looked over the patio, it was loud until about 12:30, which made it a bit challenging to fall asleep. The hotel staff alerted us the room would be loud until 11pm and it wasn't a huge problem, but the late night noise is something to be aware of. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

"Hotel OK, location not great"
We chose this hotel as we were on our way to Canterbury from the west side of London. Town of Sittingbourne quite industrial and the location of the hotel does not lend itself to walking about. Restaurant very costly so had to get in the car again to find an alternate dining facility.

"Convenient location,."
OK nice room, but terrible stairs, requested 1st floor double room - the first floor with double room was the third floor! No lift, fire doors at top of stairs before landing. Lots of paintings hung around the hotel, some nice; lots of nick-knacks, and record player in the lounge. Warm oldie world atmosphere, good breakfast and good service.

Kent is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Kent, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kent hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
