Plantation Hale Suites

525 Aleka Loop, Kapaa - Map
"The suite was roomy and quiet"
The hotel was well located near a busy highway but far enough away that there was noise to be heard in the room. The grounds were well kept except for an occasional flat, dead frog on the road behind the hotel. Amenities were nearby, i.e. restaurants, groceries, shopping in general. All in all, an excellent 10 day stay

"Comfortable and welcoming hotel in Poipu"
We were greeted with leis upon check in which was a wonderful way to start our stay at Koloa Landing. Our room was ready early so we were able to take advantage of the relaxing pool. On Thursdays there is a great complimentary happy hour with appetizers and live music. Our room was clean and spacious with full size washer and dryer and an efficiency kitchen. The hotel is a short drive (or walk) from most of the shopping in Poipu as well as Poipu Beach.

Hanalei Colony Resort

5-7130 Kuhio Hwy, Hanalei - Map
"Relaxing close to Hanalei"
Relaxing condos on beach (no swimming unless very calm though), 20 mins from Hanalei town/bay/beach, 5-10 mins (and a bit of a walk) to Tunnels beach, 20 mins from Napali Coast State Park. DO NOT expect your room ready before that 2pm mark though. Ours was not ready until 2:40pm. Though I was told some units were updated, ours was not. The older units, though still nicely furnished & decorated & comfortable, are a bit dated and in need of updates due to the salty sea air... fixtures and appliances showing wear & rust. Not dirty, but was enough to be noticeable. No A/C, no TV, and no phones, which we loved, but some may not. But, has wifi... weird multi-building wifi. It was pretty quiet between units too for having all the windows open most of the time. Our unit (ocean front) was set nicely to receive the trade-winds & keep things cool, but some units may not be as conveniently set up. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, and were upgraded by the staff from ocean-view to ocean-front, which was very nice!! The only restaurant on-site is the Mediterranean one. It was good but pricey (even with the discount ticket given to resort stays). But, Sushi Girl, is very close (5-10 mins). They have a limited menu, but everything is very fresh, very very good, and reasonably priced. Try the sushi burrito! Kalypso's in Hanalei was also reasonable. The coffee cafe across from Kalypso's also has sandwiches and was very reasonable & delicious.

"Excellent value and beautiful location "
The Cliffs is a lovely property in Princeville with a gorgeous view of the north ocean. Buildings 6, 8, 9 all have unobstructed views of the water. The pool is small but pretty with a lava rock facade. They offer weekly activities like yoga and a free scuba class.

"An excellent value."
It's an older place and the damp salt air has taken a toll on the metal screens, sliders, etc. However, the location was fantastic; the bed was clean and extremely comfortable. It's not a "high end" kind of place but I'd go back again. The on-site restaurant (The Bull Pit) was great--good food; reasonable prices. As I mentioned, we thought it was a great value for the money. Great locations and accessible to everything you could want or need.

"Nice small resort, but bed WAY too soft!"
Nice small-scale resort, NOT for children since there's not much too do there. Rooms were clean and somewhat updated - it seems like they're still working on all the furniture. Bathroom was nicely done and a good size, but the bed was rather broken down and WAY too soft.

Kauai Island is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Kauai Island, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kauai Island hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
