"A hotel from the past - nice spot, nice ambiance "
Few irking things.
Staff very slow to attend to you. For example, if you stood at the entry to a bar or restaurant wanting a seat, they would walk past you to clean a table.
Limited choice of dining. A degustation or a snack menu. The snacks, however, are superb - especially the Asain choices.
House cleaning average - long blond hairs still in bathroom, etc.
Would come back for that special occasion

Helpful staff and room was clean but there was this constant noise that we think was the wind blowing through pipes. If you are a light sleeper then I would recommend asking for a room that is not in the main building. We enjoyed our stay but we were only in our room to sleep. For us, as long as it is clean with at least basic amenities then we are happy but if you want more from your room then you will probably not want to stay here. Would I recommend this motel to my friends? yes to some and others I would send elsewhere.

There were many good points regarding this hotel. But it is very expensive and hence, for us, it was a one-off luxury experience. In particular, the view from the bedroom over the valley was most impressive. But the lounge area is
very small and austere, especially when compared with the resort directly opposite. It lacks the friendly comfort of lounge areas in other hotels in the area. The dining experience was 'interesting.' The food was beautifully presented but overpriced. There was little atmosphere in the dining room, which was reflected in the fact that there were only two other couples dining while we were there from about 7 pm. The three occupied tables were attended by two waiters who 'hovered' throughout,

Very nice staff and a very pleasant place to stay - we felt very comfortable. The place is has the old heritage feel and yet modernised with new lighting and fit outs. Good place to stay while visiting the Blue Mountains!

The small artistic town of Katoomba glows in its quirk, and is only a stone's throw from the famous Echo Point, which offers a stellar view of the mountainous horizon and the famous rock formation known as the Three Sisters. Affluent neighboring town Leura provides picturesque English-style gardens, which thrive during the Leura Garden Festival every October.
