Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa

Via dei Cartari 18, Palermo - Map
"Good hotel well located for Palermo attractions"
I would recommend the hotel. It is extremely well located for most of the main tourist attractions of Palermo. The room (for up to four people, using a well-sized double sofa bed in addition to a double bed) was comfortable with good cupboard space and a large bathroom. The central open courtyard was charming under a retractable roof which was rolled out to provide shade when the sun was directly overhead. The buffet breakfast was very good value.

"Excellent location & Lovely Staff"
Overall we thought the hotel was spotlessly clean with very helpful staff. We would have liked fruit for breakfast in the form of a fruit salad, partly because quite often the cooked breakfast had already run out and having too many pastries is not very healthy. Also a general fault of many hotels is rubbish hair dryers that are nowhere near a mirror !!! Our hair dryer overheated almost instantly but the hotel had a spare that I could use which was much more like it. Again no plug near a mirror. What we really appreciated was that the room was exceptionally quiet and from where we did not hear a thing. Also excellent air conditioning.

"On the Via Roma not far from Palermo Rail station "
Comfortable hotel , small lift takes 4 persons only - Hotel on 2nd floor - Reception staff excellent as were breakfast room - Breakfast room usual offering of help yourself items - bar in the breakfast room where they do coffee & tea as requested - breakfast room can get crowded & cramped when everyone turns up at once! We had a high step just inside the bathroom which you had to be careful of going in & exiting! Probably would stay there again.

"Lovely B&B set on second floor of old building in "
Elegant vestibule where guests were welcomed. Modern rooms. Everything clean & sparkling. Very personal but unintrusive service. Offer shuttle to and from the airport - great option when travelling on a Sunday. Came & went as we pleased - property was very secure. Wonderful cakes, freshly-baked on the premises, would often be waiting for us after a day out. Balcony good for absorbing community life - neighbours hanging out washing and chatting to each other across the street. Close to waterfront and 10 mins into town on foot. Late April - Palermo not half as mad as its reputation. We felt safe. Fascinating city - days out to Monreale and Cefalu recommended.

"Quiet hotel just off the main road."
For the historically inclined tourist Palermo is a must see. Locals are very welcoming and always eager to help. Food is typically Sicilian which means some of the best gastronomy in the world ! Sicilian wines are heavenly.

La Dimora del Genio

Via Garibaldi 58, Palermo - Map
"Refined & Real"
Our first 4 of a 14 day visit to Sicily were in Palermo, staying at La Dimora El Genio. Our Italian is virtually non-existent, and our host, Paola has practically no English, but we communicated very successfully. This is not a 5 star brand name hotel, this is a gracious, spacious, family home which provided us with a wonderful introduction to Sicily.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kalsa hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
