Staff were lovely and very helpful. Only reason for bad review was that it is old and outdated and it could do with a complete refurbishment. Location was fantastic and rooms were as clean as they could be considering the age of the building.

"Awesome location, beautiful hotel, comfortable"
Awesome location, so many things were in walking distance on Ali'i Dr. which was so great. The hotel was beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. The view outside of our partial ocean view room was gorgeous! We enjoyed several breathtaking sunsets right from our balcony! We didn't end up taking part in all of the things that the hotel had to offer but we enjoyed the pool and the beauty of the landscaping and the ocean. There are many places to sit and relax while having nice views. The room was nice and comfortable but nothing fancy. The property seems like it has some age you can see it in some areas but overall it was a nice place to stay because other resorts charge a daily resort fee and I liked that this hotel does not because we were out everyday enjoying what the island had to offer! Room service was available even later in the afternoon when we requested it which I really appreciated. My only thing was that because of our time difference my husband and I were in bed at 9 and the restaurant right next door to our side of the hotel had music loud enough to really hear ..not an issue for those who are up late and once we passed out it didn't bother us. But noise might be a factor on certain sides of the hotel

"Walking Distance To Everything"
We reserved a king bed but were given two twins. The staff cheerfully corrected the mistake upon our request. We had a pleasant two night stay. The bed was comfortable. The room was air conditioned and had a partial ocean view.

"No mention of renovation work!!!"
When we arrived the first thing we saw to our dismay was construction equipment on sight. There was a small crew and equipment repainting the entire complex. There was a man-lift with a backup beeper, pressure washers and airless sprayers. We get it...maintenance is necessary at some point and time but if so it should be made clear up front and/or reflected in the price so that one can make an educated decision. For us it was not our idea of rest and relaxation. We complained to the Aston management and they were understanding enough to waive our amenity fee. However, that was all they could do seeing that the booking was through Expedia. I am now hoping that Expedia will be as understanding as well and refund some portion of our expenses.

"Close to amenities and restaurants."
Nice spot. We got some pretty crazy weather so we probably didn't get out as much in the area as we'd have liked. Great to wander out by the shoreline and watch just sealife in the little rock pools. Convenient to wander out and get meals (if you don't want to take a car out constantly)

"Call this place home."
Our room was relaxing. We had the beautiful green golf course out back. My husband sat out in the lounge chair in the morning watching the birds fly back and forth to each tree. At night we enjoyed listening to the geckos on the patio. Our room was clean and nicely designed with modern kitchen. There were no small ants like some places have. The internet worked great.I couldn't ask for a more spacious and lovely place.

Get condo right on the water and steps from downtown. Just watch out for the cleaning fee they hit you with. It's not on the Expedia website.

"Clean, good location"
Great condo, loved the patios, and that we could open both to have a nice cross breeze. Wonderful to hear the ocean at night! Full appliances, and TV with cable and DVD player added to the home feel. Community BBQ was nice to be able to use, and the pools were a nice touch to take a evening dip in. The decor in our unit could have used updating, but it was clean and homey. Good location to commute into Kona, and south. Would stay here again

"Excellent value. Beautiful and very clean."
Very pleased with the accommodations. Rooms were spacious and most importantly very clean. Kitchen had everything you needed to prepare your own meals if you so desired even a cooler provided for our excursions. Pool and hot tub area were very beautiful. Easy walking distance to beach access and even to downtown. Landscaping on the property was beautiful and stafff did an excellent job . Only very small issue was wi-fi. We had a problem with it "going on and off" but they do offer a better grade internet for a fee if necessary. Would definately recommend the Wyndham Kona.

    Explore Kailua-Kona

On Hawaii’s Big Island, amiable Kailua-Kona is a flip-flops and board shorts kind of town. After spending the day learning to surf or sunning yourself on white-sand beaches, head downtown to stroll beside the lava-rock sea wall and sip a mai tai as the sun sinks into the Pacific. Aloha!

Planted among West Hawaii’s black lava fields and sparkling beaches, Kona is an ultra-convenient base camp for Big Island vacations. Get up early and take your pick of outdoor activities: snorkel or paddle a kayak in the tropical fish bowl of Kealakekua Bay, taste famous Kona coffee on mountainside farms or connect with Native Hawaiian traditions at the ancient Place of Refuge. After dark, snorkeling or diving with manta rays is a thrill you’ll never forget.

Craving even more adventure? Trek the wilder beaches along the North Kona coast, where your only companions might be green sea turtles. Or for a more civilized escape, book a Hawaiian lomilomi massage at a resort hotel spa on the beach.
