"Ok hotel for the price "
Location is good. Bed a bit too soft. Love the space under the bed for storing suitcases. Breakfast was so so . Hotel washing machines and dryers are handy to have. Train stations are everywhere in Shinjuku.

"Quiet Rooms, Convenient Location"
The Villa Fontaine Tokyo-Shinjuku is a budget hotel on the northern edge of Kabukicho, just shy of Koreatown and a 10-15 minute walk from Shinjuku station. It's a modern glass and steel building. The lobby is clean, but sparsely furnished. Registration was quick, I had my room keycard in five minutes. The staff was attentive, considerate and friendly. My room was a small and a bit frayed around the edges, but it was clean and well appointed. The bed overwhelmed the room, leaving a narrow path between the mattress and the walls. Although it was small, it had all of the amenities: safe, refrigerator, flat-screen TV, a clock radio and easily accessible two-prong outlets (Converters were available at the registration desk). The bathroom was almost the same size as the rest of the room. It had a full size bath tub with a separate shower area. The toilet and vanity were separated from the bathing area by a glass door. There was a hairdryer and a full array of complimentary toiletries, most of which I didn't identify because once I found soap and shampoo I was good. The toilet was a marvel of Japanese engineering, which worked well, when I didn't push the wrong button. I could have used instructions in English. Complimentary internet was available both wired and wireless. The complimentary breakfast was more like a boxed lunch delivered to the room, finger sandwiches and an omelet. Not my usually idea of breakfast, but healthy and filling.

Although it is a love hotel and the neighborhood is near the red light district, its still a nice hotel. I stayed here on business and it was fine. Entertaining if anything to leave for work and see couples still walking the streets.

"Great hotel if you overcome its quirks "
Most of my friends and colleagues are still shocked I stayed at a Japanese love hotel. I must say that it is a viable alternative if one overcomes its inherent quirks. First, one never sees the receptionist face to face. Think of a bank teller counter, except the glass partition is opaque. So all you ever see is the hand that gives you the room key. Speaking of the room key, whenever you leave the hotel, you must return it to front desk. When you come back, you ask for the key back, even if you are gone for a 10 minute 7-11 run. The room, hallway and elevator all reeked of cigarette odor. Be forewarned. Now the pluses. The room is huge by Japanese standards and comes with every amenities you will need. It even had a karaoke machine! All the VOD movies are free. Place is located in the middle of Kabukicho and less than a 10 minute walk to Shinjuku Station.

Kabukicho is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Kabukicho, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Kabukicho hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
