What a wonderful setting and place! loved the boardwalk to the other resorts. One evening took the boardwalk to visit a restaurant at another resort.
Beach was close and plenty of poolside space to catch some rays.
centrally located. I would recommend this resort in a heartbeat!

We came in on January 21 one of the windiest days of the year. Lobby area is open and everything was blowing around, this made it very hard on the staff to check us in that night. He did a short version to try to get us to our room faster, that was appreciated even though we missed some details. The room had great views of the ocean and mountains. The room was very clean, The room was dated with cast iron tub and tub surround, and older fixtures, doors and closet but everything worked. The staff was very nice and helped when every we asked. We rented a cabana for two days on the beach and it was very nice and at an average price of other locations we stayed. You do have to pay $20.00 for parking and also a resort fee. This tends to add up in a 7 day stay. The location and views are great and that is why you come to Maui.

The room was clean and well kept. It was nice and quiet at night so we could sleep. It was very relaxing for my family with 2 little ones. The beach nearby was very convenient and the pool is big and interesting, with a bridge and fountains.

This is our 4th time staying at the Whaler in an ocean view studio suite. We enjoy having the wonderfully equipped kitchen which allows us to prepare healthy less expensive meals. The location is fantastic for those who enjoy walking. There is always something happening in the village or along the beachfront pathway. We observed humpback whales every day from our lanai. The surf was pretty high this year making snorkelling tricky but is good when you get out there. Will be back!

Kaanapali is a prime vantage point for viewing humpback whales, which swim by December to May. The town’s whaling history is displayed at Whaler’s Village, a shopping complex and museum. Visitors also can experience the area’s farming past by riding the Sugar Cane Train, a restored steam locomotive. Snorkelers and divers can enjoy the coral reefs and fish that thrive in nearby Black Rock Beach.
