"Gorgeous Hotel "
We stayed here for 1 night.... In all honesty it's one of the best hotels we have stayed in and we have stayed in a few 4+*. It's different, decor is stunning, staff, in particular Obi, are all extremely welcoming and customer service is outstanding which is a rarity these days. Would we return? ABSOLUTELY!

"Value for money, near public transport"
The hotel is about 2 minutes from Old Street Tube Station, which is very useful for the morning commute. The hotel itself has everything you would expect from a five star property although in terms of price it is definitely one of the cheaper 5* options in and around central London. The staff at the front desk were helpful where check in was painless, the room itself is very modern. All of the appliances are controlled by touchscreen which is useful most of the time. Not sure why you need it for a bathroom light switch though as I forgot to switch it on about 20 times before I got used to using the panel. The king bed I had was very comfortable I didn't want to get out in the morning, definitely one of the best i've stayed in.

"A little off the main drag but 10 mins from tube"
Fabulous customer service, contacted before I travelled to organise services that I wanted and afterwards to get feedback on those. A nice touch that impressed me.

"Beautifully appointed hotel"
Mansion-like, beautifully maintained hotel in convenient location. Staff makes you feel at home. Nice pedestrian, lively area. For a couple with our teenage daughter, the suite was spectacular comprised of a bedroom with posting bed, a study and a full bath downstairs. Quiet and peaceful at night. Lovely common rooms for afternoon tea. Cant wait for an opportunity to come back. A little pricey but worth it.

"Room without TV"
Room was clean and comfortable. There was a coffee pot but no microwave or TV. Shower is very small. An option to pay for room service was available. Two short but narrow flights of stairs up to the room. Free WiFi was good in my room but apparently not in all rooms.

"Good for a short stay "
Dark and moody décor is ott but it's new, clean and tidy which makes most things forgivable. We'll likely return but will ask for a room with some storage - ours had none. There are a plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. We went to 'Paesan' a nice, very lively Italian a 5 minute walk away - good food and friendly service. Breakfast was expensive so we got hot bacon batches and coffee from local cafes - one 50yds away and one near Farringdon tube - both were great. It's a business areas so pubs heaving after work on Friday - quieter at weekends.

"Great hotel, central location"
Stayed for 2 nights - the apartment was really well equipped and very spacious, especially considering the normal size of hotel rooms in London. Location was great and although on a main road, there wasn't much noise when inside the room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Downside was the wifi and the leaky taps which were a bit frustrating but overall a good place to stay.

"Right at the City Centre's Edge. Perfect Hotel."
I wanted to see if a five star hotel was worth the money. And, the Montcalm at the Brewery did not disappoint. I see why people pay for five star hotels. You absolutely will get what you pay for. I booked this room, initially, through Expedia. I was given an upgrade room because of mobility issues. Lovely, lovely room. I ended up in the Montcalm Club Room. From the state of the art lighting to the two shower heads, everything is done just right. That bed was the best bed I have slept in from any hotel I have ever visited. It was massive and comfortable. The area is perfect. Just outside of the City Centre. I was able to grab coffee & a pastry across the street. I was able to watch a movie across the street. The Barbican is right across the street. The hotel is close to all sorts of transport. It was quiet & peaceful & I enjoyed every minute of it. The staff--second to none. From the moment my cab pulled up, I understood what five stars meant. I did not have to touch my luggage until I was in my room. Just exceptional. If you want it or need it & they can get it for you, they will. Just Ask. I enjoyed my stay so much that I booked a weekend in August on their site. No more Expedia. (It is not worth the headache). This is one thing, however, that Expedia got right. I was blessed with one of the best hotels in London. Book The Room, you will be glad that you did. (Oh, after you have settled in the room, someone comes by & checks that you are okay). Truly Top Notch!!!

"Close to Kings X/St Pancras"
I checked if the hotel had an elevator before booking, which it did. Unfortunately I was on the fourth floor, which required me to descend one flight from reception to level 0 to get into the elevator, and then climb three flights of stairs from level 3 to level 4 (the elevator only goes to level 3). The hotel staff were great about carrying my cases to and from the room, but it was a hassle. On my first morning there was no hot water for a shower. Again, the hotel staff were excellent at fixing the problem but it was obviously something that happens quite regularly from the reaction when I reported it.

Islington is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Islington, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Islington hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
