Hotel is just right across the train station, metro bus station and shopping mall. Very convenient for travelers who will be using the train and bus to go around Kyoto. An iconic site/landmark but the hotel needs renovation. Breakfast buffet was good.

"unexpected amazing experience. "
upon arriving you first walk into the lobby the design is stunning. staff were friendly and helpful with any requests. upon checking-in a staff member will escort us to the room we would be staying in. upon entering the room the staff member will walk us thru are room and what we have available to us during our stay. the washing machine in the room is all Japanese writing. the staff member walked us thru how to use it correctly as we were English speaking guests. the staff speak very good and fluent English. they are helpful in every way and i highly recommend this hotel for the friendliness of the staff and the stunning design of the hotel. if you are use to western style food i do not recommend the breakfest that is included in the price.

Royal Park Hotel The Kyoto

"Excellent hotel in a great location."
Our room was clean and comfortable and generous room size for a Japanese hotel. We booked twin beds as we heard beds were small but they had them together which made a king size. The gorgeous French bakery next door was a huge breakfast bonus! We would definitely stay here again as the location is perfect.

"Great location"
It's a business hotel. Expect that level of utility. Small, cramped room and bathroom, but it has everything you need. The price by itself is reasonable, but when you consider the location, it's a good deal. I stayed with my wife, which compounded the feeling of crampedness, but if you're by yourself, it's likely a lot easier. This hotel was the overflow from the main one, which is slightly closer to the station. You could also buy a breakfast for about a 1200 yen (I think). Basic Japanese breakfast (because it caters to Japanese businessmen). Not a bad deal. I can eat it. I just prefer what I'm used to, and went elsewhere. I only stayed one night, because that's all I was in town for, and this hotel fit the bill. If I had to stay 3 nights, I would likely go where there's a little more room. I wouldn't have the location, but it wouldn't be an issue for a long stay.

"Homely apartment @ Citadines Kyoto"
The maintenance is superb and clean. Comfortable movement of space especially good breathing space with balcony. We manage our own meals well with the kitchenette. And self-service laundry machines too. Television channels are good. One of the best locations in the heart of Kyoto city. The only improvement we would suggest is: 1: wall hooks to hang dry our towels for reuse and for jackets. 2: advise on the freezer settings for our fridge, cause my ice-creams don't freeze much, but even though it melts soft Japanese ice-creams are heavenly good. Overall, excellent. Arigato gozaimshita!

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
