Check-in staff convinced I had not pre-paid through Expedia. I was told they "don't do this kind of thing!" Only upon checkout was it explained that though I had paid, Expedia don't pay them until after checkout. No apology received.
Waitress lovely but chef did not know his own menu and kept missing items off which made the food quite bland - Posh Fish & Chips with no lemon mayonnaise became simply Fish & Chips. 3 scoop Ice Cream promised as Vanilla, Strawberry and cherry with fruit compote arrived as 2 scoops of vanilla and one of mint without fruit compote, which would never have gone with mint anyway.
Room was lovely, although we had upgraded. Complementary e-mail did not work second night of two - was it a coincidence that a senior Scottish politician was also staying at the hotel? Could it be that his e-mail security was deemed more important than everyone else in the hotel put together?!

Arrived to be told only room left on second floor up 43 stairs. No lift Hot - no air con and kept hitting head on eves which sloped into room in roof. Staff very helpful however . Ensure ground floor or first floor if you stay . Disconcerting fire exit only front door and no fire extinguishers on landings.

Stayed at this hotel after a mix-up with a reservation somewhere else. The hotel is quite nice but definitely not worth the 184 pounds per night we paid. Great dinner at the restaurant and the staff are super. Especially the spanish girl at the reception was very polite, friendly, and helpful. There is a nice bar at the restaurant but we haven't tried it. Overall, a great hotel within close walking distance to the center of the city and with easy car access to Loch Ness and the surrounding area.

Beautiful property but not near a lot, need a car. Breakfast was good, filling and hearty. Tea in the afternoon is awesome!!!! Had room service one night, quick service with warm-hot food. Inverness itself close to so much history, so if your coming up and drive to Stirling, Culloden and the Loch.

Inverness is the most northerly city in the British Isles and lies in the heart of the vast Scottish Highlands. Ness Islands Walk takes visitors upstream from the city centre, where the cathedral and war memorial can be spotted on the approach to the small islands in the middle of the river. Inverness is a great base for exploring; the city is around 21 km from the shores of the renowned Loch Ness.
