We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel on Blythswood Square in the Center of Glasgow. The service and friendliest of the entire staff, from the doorman, to the reception, to the concierge, to the waitstaff were exceptional.
The hotel is beautifully done, and was formerly the location of the Scottish Automobile Association. The lobby, main dining and Salon were lovely and the food and service excellent. My favorite spot was the bar called the Salon up the stairs from the lobby. Nice place to have either a whisky or tea, which is served in the afternoon. Cheers to Connor and Stephen who were delightful.
Our deluxe room was spacious, clean and well appointed with a large marble bathroom. Beds and linens were top notch, and any requests were attended to quickly.
We had dinner downstairs and the food was delicious, and the staff very friendly in spite our showing right before closing. We had the sweetest waitress, a student from Slovenia.
There is a nice Spa at this hotel and should not be missed, particularly after a long flight.
We highly recommend, in fact we would go to Glasgow just to stay there again!

Let down by uncomfortably warm bedroom (even with all windows open) due to thermostatic radiator valves not closing fully. Complaints to staff failed to resolve, with no explanation provided.
Nice spa facilities but sauna was at an almost unbearable 96C and pool area also excessively warm thus could not cool down:-(

I got a good deal and booked this hotel. What can I say it is the most beautiful hotel I have stayed in Scotland. The scenery is amazing. The rooms spacious and beautifully decorated. We got a super king room and the bed was huge. The steam room jacuzzi sauna were wonderful and the pool was a good size. Our room overlooked the river and the outside hot tub. Wonderful views. Staff very friendly. It was a relaxing and peaceful 2 night break. Will defiantly return.

Although hotel was lovely and friendly staff, I was very disappointed as bins were not emptied in the 4 nights I stayed at the hotel. Also bedsheets were never changed.I would have expected fresh towels and bins emptied every day.Fair enough receptionist did advise to ask for towels when needed. The fact the room was not cleaned even once during my four day stay was disappointing.I did ask for fresh towels when needed but the girl at reception who brought them to my room[128 first floor] did not take away used towels so by the time I was leaving there was a lot of towels on bathroom floor so between that and bags of everyday rubbish I`m afraid it was very untidy.Did not feel comfortable with having to ask staff as I felt it should be hotel policy to at least to empty the bin every day

Port Glasgow is the largest of the several towns and villages that comprise Inverclyde, and, together with Greenock, was central to Glasgow’s shipbuilding history. The Comet was the first commercial steam vessel in Europe, built in Port Glasgow in 1812; a replica of the famous ship is found in the town centre. Greenock was once home to Scott's, the oldest shipbuilding business in the world.
