The building is older and looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80's. Nothing about it seems dirty or otherwise offensive, it just feels old, like your grandparents' living room. The bathroom is a bit small.

This Hotel has 30 rooms with antiques and period furniture throughout. There is a marvelous garden area attached to the Hotel and my room faced the garden directly and the full moon shone overhead. Breakfast has the usual fruits, cereals, scrambled eggs and sausage, beverages, bakery goods. There is a code to enter building and to enter garden and the area surrounding is not the best. However, it is close to Independence Square and all the charming shops and restaurants. The Truman Home is directly across the street and tours are given several times a day. The Truman Library is about half a mile away and is worth seeing. I would stay at the Hotel again if ever in this area.

the room was clean (it was almost like I was the first person to occupy the room) and comfortable.I am a huge baseball fan and like to visit KC for games. This hotel has eliminated all others in the area from being considered for future lodging!

I recently stayed one night, with my 28, 20 and 16 year old kids. We were traveling from Denver and stopped in Independence. The hotel was friendly, clean and accommodating. Very easy to get to the highway and many fine restaurants.

Beautiful home with down to earth, friendly hosts. Stayed in the Bieber which was like it's own little apartment. Made for one of our most memorable anniversary celebrations. I loved having our own private table at breakfast rather than the communal seating like other B&B's.

Part of the Kansas City metro area, Independence is Missouri’s fourth-largest city with 115,000 residents. Harry S. Truman, the 33rd U.S. president, grew up here. Visitors can tour both the Harry S. Truman National Historic Site and the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum in Independence.
