I highly recommend Stoney Creek Inn. The setting of the hotel is beautiful and relaxing. It's an Inn in the city with a country feel. My husband and I loved the walking paths, beautiful plants, grasses, waterfall and seating behind the Inn. We found it very relaxing. The staff was wonderful, bed and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast has everything from hot food to fresh fruit. It was very tasty. We also enjoyed music in the lobby from the player piano! Very good value for money spent.

"Super clean, very nice, comfortable place to stay"
Though I have stayed in more high-end places it's possible I have never stayed in a hotel that was more clean and well kept. It was immaculate! I believe the owners are also the ones who oversee the day to day operations, so it's obvious they put a great deal of care into their business, and they do their best to make you feel at home. The hotel is right across the street from Harry Truman's house and along the street of many other historic homes. I would gladly stay here again! If you're a little more adventurous, it's just a little longer walk to the Truman museum and presidential library or downtown Independence.

We had 4 adults and 1 child, there was plenty of room for us all, we didn't get to swim very long but the pool was nice, clean and working. The breakfast was wonderful surprise, there was eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, pancakes and all the other good stuff.. The only complaint we can give is the beds were a little too firm for us. Other then that yes we will stay again if we head that way again. Oh and to the gentleman that worked the breakfast Saturday morning, thank you!

Part of the Kansas City metro area, Independence is Missouri’s fourth-largest city with 115,000 residents. Harry S. Truman, the 33rd U.S. president, grew up here. Visitors can tour both the Harry S. Truman National Historic Site and the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum in Independence.
