This is a great place to stay but you need a car unless you're prepared to pay for taxis. The hill climb is steep but well worth the views!
The shared facilities are really good with a well equipped kitchen and loads of space!

Read some not so enthusiastic reviews about this place, but it was exactly where I needed so went ahead and booked. Not really sure what all the fuss was about. Clean , tidy, comfy beds, staff helpful when there but being expected to cover 2 facilities so can't blame them for not being there all the time. Over all good value for money, if you want luxury you have to be prepared to pay more than you do here, I was more than happy and will stay again next time I'm up and recommend to friends .

Fantastic, well furnished entertainment areas inside and on the balcony, including Jacuzzi, sunbed, dining area and surround sound. Great views over Boathaven. Close walk to main street. Would definitely stay here again.

We had originally booked a different hotel but had to change after it was damaged during the recent cyclone that hit the area. Needless to say we made an excellent choice with SeaStar apartments. Upon arriving we were greeted by a staff member who took us up the steep hill on a buggy to the hotel. All the way up the view just got better and better and we were already impressed then.
As we were in a bit of a rush to get to a pre-booked tour, we asked the staff what was the best way to get down to port of airlie. Unexpectedly, they generously offered to drive us down there themselves. Taking this opportunity to quickly dump our stuff in our room before heading out, we were dumbstruck to see that our room was pretty amazing to say the least. With a full kitchen, living area, separated bedroom and bathroom as well as a massive balcony with the most incredible view yet...we were very very impressed. It was almost too much.
Before getting in the car, the staff also offered to lend us some sunscreen as they could see we didn't have time to get our own. Never before had we experienced this kind of service in this country, and it made the stay that more pleasurable knowing the the staff were so friendly in addition to the already amazing room.
At many points throughout our stay we would simply sit on the balcony and look out towards the beach. With only 10 mins walk to the main street, we found it very convenient (although walking up the hill gives you a workout).

Overall a good value for money appartment. Had everything there needed for a comfortable stay. Great views. There is some traffic noise from roundabout below during the day.. Although no noise at night.
Bathroom floor tiles need a good scrub. Shower over bath could be a problem if you have mobility issues.

Hayman is the most northerly of the Whitsunday Islands and home to the luxury 5-star Hayman Island Resort. Much of the island is virgin forest, so bush-walking is a popular activity. Blue Pearl Bay on the north of the island is a snorkeler's paradise and the more adventurous traveler can go diving on the Great Barrier Reef or enjoy a host of other watersports.
