"Stylish hotel in ideal location"
First impressions are very good, beautiful hotel overlooking the Stray, short walk from central Harrogate. The Reception staff member (young woman, Eastern European? Name beginning with K) was efficient (though she only gave us 1 key which didn't work and had to be returned) but lacking in any smile or greeting, which was a disappointing first impression. The room was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need. Lovely comfortable bed and stylish bathroom. We appreciated the bluetooth speaker, quality tv, view over the front gardens . However, as mentioned by several other guests, the room was very hot, even after the windows had been left open for 2 days and the temperature outside was only 15/16 degrees. Any hotter and it would have been unbearable. Obviously you can't expect air-conditioning, but in light of the fact that several guests commented on this problem, the hotel needs to invest in fans in the hot rooms.
Breakfast was excellent, with a good selection of food and drinks and nicely served, though, once again, a smile and a greeting would have been nice and a couple of the staff looked rather scruffy (cheap ankle bracelet, tattoos and messy hair)
All in all, we were very happy with the hotel, which only lacked some better customer service training in how to smile and greet guests.
