A cozy hotel over looking the Hardangerfjord. The staff was most helpful, the view is spectacular, room perfect size for two, even by Norwegian standards=) Conviently located a short and beautiful drive from Bergen.
Breakfast was great!! A great beginning for a beautiful drive across Hardangervidda!

Loved this hotel so much that we cancelled our reservations for another hotel a few days later and came back to this one. Why? Because there is nowhere like the Strand Fjordhotel to unwind with a glass of wine or a beer after a busy day of sightseeing. And there is no better place to start the day than on the patio of the Strand Fjordhotel where breakfast can be enjoyed looking at the sun rise behind the mountains and on the water. Very relaxing atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle and absolutely gorgeous view. Feels more like a cottage than a hotel. Very friendly staff (especially Jorge) and larger rooms and beds than typical Norwegian hotels. Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean.

Our stay at Ulvik was truly wonderful and it was made even better by the staff of the Rica Brakanes Hotel. They were warm, courteous and accommodating and went out of their way to help us on several occasions. I would be delighted to recommend this hotel, and would love to stay there again!
